Got some adjustable upper control arms to pull the wheels in enough to clear the fenders and started cutting away some of the quarter panel. I tried drilling the E9x xdrive front hubs but just kept destroying bits so I took them to a machine shop. Then I pressed in some ARP 14mm studs. The studs I got for the rear F8x hubs are from Vargas Turbo and they convert 14x1.25 to 14x1.5 to match the ARP studs.

Picked up some fiberglass doors and cut about 100lb off the car.
Thought I'd see how good the cheap ebay Chinese carbon fiber pieces are and I gotta say this diffuser looks pretty nice and fits good for the price. Got the thick vrsf intercooler and a new core support, chopped it up to fit the intercooler. And lastly got some F8X outer billet 930 CV stubs for the rear axle from SLG. |

Awesome build, love to see the progress!
I have an e90 335i x-drive with the n55 and 6 speed. I’m going to try to LS swap it and use the bmw xdrive system. I was going to see if a dry sump kit would clear the diff and build custom mounts for it after. Hopefully I’ll be able to figure out the xdrive computer or just tap into the wires and control it with a knob. Can’t wait to see how this comes out! |

Haven't done much on the car lately, Seibon had a good sale on this hood so I had to grab it. Also decided to go 8hp70 and ATC300 transfer case because the 4l80 setup was just too big and the transfer case was impeding on the driver seat too much. Should be receiving the adapter kit from Guruautowerks today.

Took a chance on a double sided carbon trunk from China. Ordered on black Friday and got it today. It's better than I expected, smooth finish with minimal defects. Threaded steel inserts where the hinges mount. Fit seems perfect. Under $1k with shipping.
What i don't like- it's only one layer of carbon that's visible, the rest is fiberglass but they were clear about that before i ordered. The corners have a tiny gap where the two pieces didn't meet up. There are two pivots, one where the emblem goes and one on the top surface. Seller on aliexpress is Witness Warm Tuning....I know... sounds sketchy. But they replied to any messages within a day and sent detailed pics before shipping. It arrived well protected in a nice hinged plywood crate. |
