I am surprised that the outcome was so significant.
M3's were stock as far as I know. I have the AA Processor, BMS intake, AA FMIC, AA SSK, Sprintbooster and Tial 50 mm BOV.

Maybe i just got lucky and ran up against two extra slow m3's?

Or you raced two manual M3's that can't shift the car correctly.

135i can't touch the M3 V8 top end.

GTboard videos are the most legit match ups out there.

Could this vid just be a bit of an E92 M3 promo on BMW's part, to try and make the M3 look better to both the 335i and 135i because of their smaller siblings performance and much lower price tags :iono:

I have read about this in quite a few reports, that BMW have 'shot themselves in the foot' by having a 'normal' 3 series and now a 1 series that can rival/match or beat the M3 in straight line acceleration...

More important is the M3 DCT keeping pace with a Yamaha R1.

with equally competent drivers a DTC m3 should be that much faster than a tuned 135. the DTC m3 is simply the most brilliant thing in the bmw lineup to me. value for money wise the 135 is by far the best, but that is a different question isn't it?

And you have experience with this? The transmission's only been available for a few months. No one knows what it's going to be like.

If you watch the 135 closely. Their is no suspension loading when he 'gets on it'. They started from 50Kmph. If he was in 2nd and dumped it you would see some movement in the suspension. I still dont believe it.

Vey good point. My car's rear tucks pretty significantly when i punch it. I didnt see that in the video at all.

I agree the m3 will start to pull over 110. I have seen this myself. But it will simply not put bus lengths on a 135i like it did in the video. The 135i driver either cant drive, didnt punch it, was in the wrong gear when he started, or was asleep at the wheel.

I absolutely agree with you eunosracr,

This looks very bogus to me. We have recently seen the manual E92 M3 get a beating from a dig from a stock 135i. A tuned car will be much faster in the lower gears and should load up the rear end more than it does in this video. Also my friend has SSTT with a K&N drop-in and UK 99 octane fuel and his car is in a different league to my stock 135i.

Exactly. I am sure there will be some in here that will say that an M3 with DCT is much quicker than a manual M3 (which might be true), however, I just don't see it being bus lengths quicker than a manual m3 or tuned 135i.

Full bolt-on N54 cars are trapping at ~115, and putting down 380rwhp.

Should consistantly pull an M3 from any speed.

Heh, tuned 335s can hang with E60 M5s without much trouble...

A tune-only N54 car should put out slightly more power than the E92 M3, and weigh less. Don't think much more needs to be said about it than that, heh.

Mad.
The SSTT makes that much of a difference from stock? I know what the numbers say but I am interested in seeing how a stock 135i does against a SSTT 135i:iono:

Are there any videos of this?
