i mean it doesn't matter which u choose... they are all better than the 1M... the 1M was a true parts bin car and is only special because there were only 740 brought to the usa... many of them are now even wrecked due to the snappy chassis which wasn't good for anything except drifting... if u discount steering... EVERYTHING in an M2 or M2C is better...not even mentioning m2 cs

I don’t understand the hype, can’t the current M2c beat the shit out of this dinosaur in every single way?

A today's SF90 (a car that depreciates faster than it accelerates) can beat the shit out of Enzo in every single way... except you know, rareity and thrills and so on. Hope you understand thats' how classic cars work, you just isnt the buyer. Its not your car, not your market. Enjoy the modern BMWs. All of them probably can be beaten by some Tesla but who cares, right? Hope you get my point.

Why to people pay 200K for air-cooled 911's?. It only has 282hp. It is not for "performance" Certainly is not "rare". It's the analog driving experience.
A 1958 356 speedster does not even have 100 hp. Cross shop that with a GT2 same $$. Different strokes, different folks. Wanna go FAST! buy a EV, It will blow the doors off of any "M" car. Ask me how I know.

GT3 for 100k, does not exist, X2 or more for a good one.

Fair point if we’re talking 991 or 992 GT3. I was thinking more 996 GT3 range. Not common at 100k, but they’ve traded around there. Either way, just saying, once you’re at six figures, the options open up.

Beautiful car but way overpriced. I would buy a new G80 M3 or M2 CS for that much money.

In my highly valued opinion, this car is awesome. When new it was affordable, made with cool parts out of the spares bin and looks great.

They’ll age very well. Fuck that tho, I wanna drive it!

Nice! I’d mod it to my liking as I did my 10K mile e92. And drive it.

Id make it that black Dinan on YouTube reviewed by Matt Farah a while ago.

I was lucky enough to have one of these. I had to sell one of my cars and a big decision to make.

The cars: 2006 E86M (coupe, S54), 2000 Z3 (manual, M54B30), 1970 911E (2.2 flat 6), 1989 Peugeot 205 GTi with an Mi16 engine swap and the 1M…

THE 1M was easily the fastest and most modern analogue experience but the engine isn’t what should be in an M car and it was boring.

The decision to sell was based on which car I was least excited to drive and the 1M was the one I sold.

Great car in isolation but the 1M was when BMW started whacking an M badge on anything and everything…

Agree, the N54 was not reliable!!

I had 2 335iS with the same engine and while the motor itself was solid, the peripherals such as injectors, coils, HPFP, charge pipe among others kept needing work. Then there were oil leaks from various gaskets.. the OFHG went out twice within a 30,000 mile period.. But somehow the N54 felt more visceral than N55 & the current B58..

And if you drive porsches, wait till I tell you what 240k USD can get you that the 993 Turbo costs... But porsche people are crazier (they are bmw people on steroids) so they probably will justify it easier.

For some reason BMW owners do not understand analogue modern classics that only get better with time.

1M is fantastic, just needs seats and an exhaust and it is perfect, IMHO. Only car I put on it's level is 997gen GT3's. Rather own a 1M over a 991/992 GT3.

Not for everyone, as it is a classic, but man people who own these cars, absolutely love these cars (myself included) and for 100k not sure there is a more exciting car for those that want a BMW.

I totally get the analog classic BMW cars. I own a 2011 335i and love it. The 1M is a fantastic car and would own one if they weren’t stupid money. I just think this example is too expensive.

I'm amused at the haters crawling out the woodwork to bash the 1M on the 1M forum.

Even moreso considering they seem to have AWD slushbox land yachts listed as their cars, tells me everything I need to know about their opinions

I don’t understand the hate for the N54 - I had a plebeian 135, and that thing cooked right out of the box. Add a Burger tune - even better.

The 1M was an E92 M3 below the belt line but with a much shorter wheelbase. It was a riot, and a pyrat in every sense of the word. . Hell, my SRS is also a parts bin car…not sure why that’s considered negative.

That being said, I am not sure I’d pay what they’re asking for this one but what a great M car.

Nobody hates the N54 motor, it’s just the reliability of engine peripheral parts that becomes annoying & expensive to keep fixing, especially if you don’t DIY.
BMW later switched to N55 with single turbo that simplified things & made it significantly more reliable.
In general, F series on, BMWs have become significantly more reliable, even oil leaks from various gaskets have pretty much become a thing of the past!

I also feel that F series onwards, BMWs have become more numb/isolated in driving feel.. that’s a different topic though!

Your comment tells me you’re not a true BMW enthusiast.
No offense—many of my friends say the same thing. They’re always chasing the newest BMW models and rarely keep a car for more than two years. They also tend to believe that newer automatically means better.
