So got the car back yesterday and went for a spirited ride today. Yeah, I like the D4.
From cold, it felt like the stock BMW fluid but after driving for a few mins, I could tell it was smoother. 2nd gear slots in better - so far so good. Will have to have a lot more miles and different weather to really tell but liking it so far. My old oil was in great condition and was only 2 years old. When I got it changed at BMW back then, I could tell no difference whatsoever after it was changed so maybe this thinner D4 formula helps get oil in the right places with the right friction.
