There's a clip on each side of the handbrake handle. My service advisor found them after we tried using force to pull it off for like 10 minutes.

They are on the inside of the handle. You can't really see them, but just know they are on each side. You should be able to carefully wedge a flathead screwdriver and slightly lift while pulling the handle. Ideally, doing this from both sides at the same time would yield better results, but if you are careful, you should be able to unhook each side at a time.
