BUMP

Price reduced again.

I am getting bored with having a car like this idle in the shed.

You have my sympathies. A year ago, it took me three months to sell my MINI Cooper S. It is an extremely frustrating and demoralising thing to go through seeing your pride and joy just sitting there waiting for a buyer to appear, and being forced to gradually chip away at the asking price. Gotta agree with beemer - reckon you might have to knock the price down under $70k before you get any serious nibbles.

Yeah, even taking into account the options that you've got, there isn't quite enough gap between the new on-road price and the on-road price of your car at your asking price (because a buyer has to add ~$3k in stamp duty and transfer fees) - particularly when it's possible to negotiate a $10k discount on a new car these days.

Anyway, good luck with the sale!

in your picture it looks like you have a dashboard sat nav screen that is ale to be folded down to hide its screen--is this the case?--if so, I didnt know that was possible
my sat nav professional 2009 (picked it up mid sept 09) looks fixed. no flipping allowed

cheers for info

I appreciate yours has got loads of extras, but I bought a brand new entry level 135 (3 month wait) 09 from syd dealer for RRP. I think with that level of discounting on new cars, 2nd hand ones will now be high 50s, low 60s.

Just my $0.02 worth.

You did well, I bought a TTS $32k off RRP too, right place right time. If that's the price dealers are prepared to sell them for then I won't be. It is making a nice feature in the garage, besides I like my forum signature and I'm not wanting to change it

Congrats on your car.

Alpine, I can't believe you still haven't sold it yet, wish I could swap!

Maybe try changing the pictures or something, just to freshen up the listing on car sales.

This kind of comment also doesn't help. I would be disappointed if someone did that with my for sale thread.

I agree. There are plenty of other threads where others have posted the prices that they paid for their cars.

This car has been for sale since at least Sept 09 and this thread indicates that serious offers have been made. To say that the comment doesn't help is, under these circumstances, entirely redundant.

i wish the OP every success, but I think he will need to meet the market or hang on to the toy.

Again thanks Bangle for your words of wisdom. It's the "one off" buyers like yourself that spread an expectation to the used car buyers out ther that stuff things up IMO. I suggest that you could sell your car tomorrow for at least what you paid for it, based on what people have bought 135is for of late and what dealers are at least initially asking.

I suggest that your car, configured similary to what mine is would be close to $80k, yes, options are only worth what some one will pay used but to compare a car without options new, purchased at a give away price (dealer probably had some discounts up his sleeve or needed to make some volume for the month to get a kick back from BM Aus, whatever) is irrelavant.

As I said earlier, I bought a car $32k off RRP so should I go sprouting on an Audi site that someone is asking too much for their car if they are asking more for a used one than I paid new, cause there are many there priced as such? NO bad form and none of my business.

So unless you can add something of value I would appreciate you not commenting in this post.

Thanks

I'm not really sure what you mean by "one off buyers."

Having quickly checked the usual on-line sources, I don't think I'd get my money back on my car, but then again I'm not planning on selling, so I'm not really qualified.

Genuinely, there was no intention to offend, so for that, I apologise!

Guys, I think we're being a bit harsh on banglemangle, he is a new member, and this community has been a very welcoming one and truly has added to my 'enthusiastic' ownership experience. The Aussie Addicts have generally been a warm and helpful bunch and we've been devoid of some of the bitchiness of our US counterparts! It certainly has taught me a great deal.

That said, banglemangle, you should also be considerate of current members and it's clear that your comments would hurt potential interest in Alpine's 135i. Also, what must be noted is that the majority of people here are enthusiasts through and through, and have a lot of love and respect for their vehicles. You can bet your bottom dollar, that Alpine's car would have been looked after, and would have gone through proper break-in procedure etc... and I sure as hell would pay a premium for that!

Also, as far as options go, any buyer in the market for these cars, knows how much the options cost brand new and are hence willing to pay a bit more for them.

Alpine, I love the new picture and hope you updated the carsales picture too. Wish you the best of luck and sincerely hope the next post on this thread says 'SOLD!'

Alpine is fanatical about his car including religiously cleaning it by removing the wheels etc. This is why I was trying to get him to sell me his TT-S! :P

Dare I say that Alpine's car is in even BETTER condition than brand new! I somehow doubt the dealer's detailers would come anywhere near that level of perfection!

BTW Way I note from your sig you've moved your 135.
