hey man! nice sub box there!

would definitely buy one from you if i was in the US!

Just some questions please:

- how does the sub box stay in place? did you screw it down?

- are you only running the sub off of the amp or did you change the speakers as well?

- would just stock speakers and the JL 500/1 amp + Sub be fine? dont want to blow my stock speakers.. also don't want to change the head unit.. but don't want to go hi-lo really either..

oh and would you be willing to send dimensions for a donation or something?

thanks!

how does it sound? Seems kinda far back in the trunk and facing at an odd direction to have 1 10" sub...is it powerful enough?

That is a JL W6v2 with a JL 500W amp hooked up to it. The sub is well within it's efficiency range with that kind of power and should sound great. As far as placement goes, I had no problem with the exact same sub/amp combo in the same area of the trunk in my STi.

I'm running the stock headunit as well since I didn't want to loose the OBC. The JL 500/1 amp powers my JL 10" W6 sub in the trunk. I am still using the factory interior speakers (don't plan on changing them at this point either). It sounds great! One of the things I feared about upgrading the factory subs under the seat was that I was going to make the annoying exterior rattle that the factory subs made even worse than it already is. By going with the 1 10" sub in the trunk, that's eliminated. There's not really dimensions that are measured as I just made a mold of the trunk trim. The JL amp powers it perfectly. Placement of the sub works great as well. I've done this style setup on a few different car makes/models and it has always been good.

That's a great looking enclosure, same location I had my sub in my STi.

I just hate that it takes 50lbs of equipment by the time you have the enclosure, sub and amp.

How would the wiring and installation work for this with my stock premium sound setup? I have a stealthbox in my GTI and I had a 500/1 amp with a 10W6 sub in the same rear location, course I had my audio shop do the install, and this was an actual JL stealthbox made specifically for the car so it came with all the necessary wiring and harnesses, etc. But I would like something like this but Id like to know the best way to install and wire this bitch up with the stock headunit, i mean im assuming with an amp they would all just hook up to the stock headunit somehow and I would just use my cd player and ipod like always but with wicked better sound.

Only thing im worrying about is the rattle, i mean i already have the goddamn hellish armrest/cupholder rattle that never seems to go away.. The JL sub i had in the GTI sounded fantastic, but also that was a hatchback so the sound and bass was able to flow thru the car more freely whereas this sub setup is in a separated trunk, so I dunno... Another thing is the previous stealthbox I got cost me $550 for the whole bit, that included the sub, enclosure, wiring and everything. How much does a 10w5-6 go for now?

Are these interchangeable between the 135 and 128? Should be the same physical dimensions, right?

These enclosures will fit any 1 series coupe as long as it does NOT have the cd changer compartment on the drivers side.
