Nice. 1M looks fast!
This video is a good reminder that I should never attempt to drive in the UK! Is there ever day in the UK where it's not raining and cloudy? |

Probably true, but it's $15-20k cheaper.

"i was so sad to see the cayman pull away from the 1m at the stoplight. it would have made my choice in cars so much easier if i saw the 1m just stomp the porsche out. "
I really hope this statement was a joke. |

1. Sweet vid.
2. 1M (and Cayman for that matter) was not anywhere close to WOT near the end of the video. 3. The chase car was at or near WOT at about the 1:51 mark entering the highway, and was barely keeping up. Assuming the chase car is an M3, it only goes to show what every reasonable person thinks about the 1M vs M3: the 1M will walk away at low speeds, until the M3 has a chance to get up into its peak power at the upper end of its rpm range at which point the M3 will probably surpass the 1M. 4. All the people talking about the crazy roads have obviously never lived in Europe. Besides the right-hand drive, it looks like every large European city I've driven in, except for Paris which was far worse. |

I was only once in the UK and driving in the area around Milton Keynes. I found the plenty roundabouts very extraordinary, but is it a speciality in that area? I just thought that's how the UK streets are?

I recognise the location as BMW’s UK HQ. In the UK BMW has authorisation for highways approved testing in the UK meaning there is a rule book for travelling above the speed limit in UK specific testing with authorisation from local government and the police.
The driver of the chase car does not… Hopefully the car is not affected by the conditions of UK roads which to me are some of the worst maintained roads in the world.

bloody hell! let me be clear: cayman s>1m. my decision to buy a car would not hinge on a car pulling away from another car on a youtube video.

What if he saw the 1M in his rear mirror and let some cars in between slip through to film the 1M from behind? |

Cayman S > 1m is likely true is looking at it from a track car perspective, however when I'm visiting patients I need more space in my car. As a DD / fun car the 1m seems to fit the bill perfectly... although maybe that's just my justification to stay the course with the blue and white roundel.

What's all about that cayman vs. 1M fight? That are two different kind of cars.
If I want a sports car and I don't care about 4 seats and a trunk, I'll go for the Cayman. If I need more space and a better all day compromise, I'll take the 1M. These cars aren't comparable in my eyes. |

I can confirm 100% thats Bracknell. Home of BMW UK HQ. You can see HQ on the left at the end of the clip.
looked awesome. Shame he didn't go up next to him so we could see the rest of the car. The UK roads really aren't that bad. Maybe this explains why british people are some of the best drivers in the world. US only has straight roads and right angles . Wheres the fun in that? I play ice hockey in Bracknell and i love the drive home through those roads at 2AM in my S3. |
