A fan is place on top of the engine in both cases and all GIAC dyne runs to ensure no rising of heated air.

the BMS came up for consideration too but i wanted the heat shield and the extra sexyness of the AFE design but the BMS should work just the same and from what i gathered the BMS will be a tad louder from the woosh sound

How about this intake:

I have had the injen setup on my car since my 08 135 and now my 1m great short ram air setup IMO better then the open AFE system not sure about the closed system tho would like to see how it is . Saw the stage closed system that utilized the other ram air scoop but the setup was 900$!!!!!! Does anyone know where else to find that

This way the added bulk is placed above and not in the bumper, thus clearing the water radiator. By the way, I had a new Injen intake before doing this filter. I sold the Injen after 3 days because I could feel the loss of torque down low. Injen is just another hot air intake like any dual cone intake. I would say, always choose cold air over hot air, if there is the smallest possibility of choosing... |

I felt noticeable loss down low and no noticeable gains up high. I had Intake, Exhaust, JB3 on the 135 and the Injen intake did nothing but sound a little better at first and hurt performance 5 minutes after cranking.
