My rears did not light up during the day either.. However, they would light up when I unlock my car even during the day. I always have it in the auto light setting. I wanted my rear lights to be on all the time when I drive, even during the day, so I got a local person to code that in for me. For me, I got the car with the rears not lighting up during the day.. I would find it weird if they used to but stopped doing it. Maybe the computer had a glitch in the system when you were pulling out the connections on the old tails and plugging the new tails in. Might want to see if someone can code that in for you. |

When I went to the actual bmw dealership and asked everything regarding this they really refrained from wanting to code anything into the vehicle. I dont know why, but i guess its much of a hassle. It is a small thing but I just want those pretty led bars greet me everytime I unlock I just hope the local shop has better news for me when I pay them a visit |

I tried everything possible I can with the BC configuration. Even the mechanic at the BMW dealership told me that the configuration is correct.(At this point I dont know if I should believe him or not. I feel as if they dont know anything) Far as I know the configurations in the car are all set to light up, and it does not. I also tried to do a 30min reset procedure that I saw on another thread. Pulling out the negative of the car battery for 30 minutes resetting the car. Did not work. I think that the only options left for me now is to ask local shop guys to look into the coding of the vehicle. |

My LCI tail lights used to light up when I unlock the car. However, it stopped working since this morning. When I turn on the car it turns on (and any other driving mode). Just that when I unlock the car from outside, it no longer slowly light up like before.
Weird..

well the solution happened to be a simple code of the module that controlled the taillights. The previous owner of my car coded out the daytime running lights for the tail lights.

1 . DRL_TFL_MIT_RL_BL_2
2. DRL_TFL_MIT_SL_2 3. RL_BL_2_MIT_TFL It's going to be either one of these three from the FRM module. Which you might or might not have any idea but your friendly local code guy might. Easier way might be buying an OBD bluetooth or wifi adapter and downloading an app on your smartphone and coding it yourself; which you can do by yourself. Look for BMWHAT app for ios or android. Their OBD adapter is on for sale but it is pricey. posted for others as well |
