People just underestimate how good stock BMW exhaust systems are. This isn't a Civic. The factory bolts are made out of inconel for crying out loud.

I have this exhaust and I love it - however I need to get an adjustment on it, I believe it's touching the control arm and rattles a bit at idle...I drive with the windows down 99.9% of the time now lol
Some people are asking about the large size but it honestly looks way better since the bumper and rear is quite large and I'm running 255 tires on the rear so it just looks so much more aggressive and I get compliments everywhere on the looks and the sound. |

I'm honestly really interested by the magnaflow, I just don't want to pay full price for one. Eventually a used one will come up.

I bought mine from www.hottexhaust.com use the coupon code vortex and it comes up to 514$ shipped, I don't know if you'll find a used one cheaper plus it's brand new!
I live in Toronto and it took 2-3 weeks because the supplier was waiting for it to be shipped from the states, so depending on where your located it might come sooner. |

I'm already on my third exhaust setup, so i'd rather wait and spend the money on wheels or something prior to doing another exhaust swap, haha.

Did a simple exhaust mod....guy down the street does performance exhaust...we cut the muffler off...drove it around the block, barely louder than with the muffler, but I can definitely hear the engine now...up around 5000 rpm the sound was really sweet....so he just bent up an extension with a beautiful polished stainless tip and welded it in using original mounts...looks and sound way better than stock....and he only charged me $150....6 piston brake kit will be here next week...

Hey guys,
This set up looks pretty attractive and I can still get it for around $520 delivered and install it myself. You think it is a great deal? Every body still happy with it? I have been reading all the posts on this site..... Last edited by horsepower_and_hounds; 01-11-2014 at 09:46 AM.. |

I think all are. I only seen one person mention a rattle against the suspention arm after the install, resolved by adjusting the exhaust out of the way

Inconel is quality stuff. My company coats platinum parts in our analytical instruments with this to prevent them sticking to each other at 1000C. Inconel is great stuff, and VERY expensive. Just speaks volumes to the quality of BMW and their engineering. I guess we should have very few problems with frozen exhaust bolts
