How much approx would they be to get made up? When the bushings from turner are $300/set plus post?
Bit hard to tell, but i reckon i could definately get it done cheaper. It would be nice to get them in the $250 ball park...

If we had buyers for say 6 sets it would be worthwhile to write a cnc program and once its written, machining times would be quite quick.

If it was for say 2 sets machining would be done manually and well a lot slower. As we all know time = $.

IMO instead of trying to reduce the parts' cost which is already $250 for the "tried" ones, we should look at reducing the install cost which is $1k!

I thought install was closer to $600. Still very expensive regardless though.

I was quoted $1250 fitted by a local vendor. The breakdown was $250 for parts and $1000 for fitting. (Not sure if that was a mates' rate though!). If we can find a mechanic to fit them for $600, I'm in.

That was probably for the M3 'rubber' bushes yeah? If so I can get them much cheaper than $250, but cant help you with the install as its always going to be a big job taking the rear subframe out of the car and to rip those bushes out (I imagine at least 5 hrs labour)

i'd be in for a set, maybe even two, if they were around the $250 mark

plus not having to pay the $50 shipping, that's a solid saving

Well tbh those solid bushes from TMS are nice, but in engineering terms they aren't complex and would be quite simple to knock a set up.

It wouldn't really be worth the while for 1 or 2 sets, but if we could get 5+ buyers i think it would be worthwhile to pursue and start drafting up some drawings to get a quote.

FYI, there are 2 different sets of TMS solid Aluminium rear subframe bushings for the E9x and E8x platforms. The non-M and the 1M/M3. They have different part numbers. I can't see why they're any different as even the picture on their website is the same but I was told that they weren't interchangeable.

I ordered the non-M ones but luckily caught out my "mistake" before they shipped it and had it swapped over.

Would be worth checking out interest for i guess .. shouldn't be hard to get 5-10 sets pre-ordered i think?

the thing is.. that makes no sense?

we (i mean that in the general 1er/3er non-m owner sense) put the OEM M3 bushings in our non-M's... so how is there possibly an M and non-M kit when the M bushes fit in non-M?

I just sent TMS an e-mail clarifying

i could possibly understand non-M bushings not fitting an M3/1M, not that i know exactly why... but when vice-versa fits fine, seems pointless to sell two different types for identical prices?

Yeah I didn't understand it either which is why I almost ordered the wrong ones. I was advised that the non-M ones would not fit into an M rear subframe. Was not given a reason why though. I know that the subframe designs are different but I also know that the rubber bushings fit in both. Maybe there are very very slight tolerance differences which wouldn't affect a rubber bushing but would affect a solid aluminium one.

That is a decent price if it includes delivery.

yeah the reply i got was 'there are slight differences between the two'

literally.. that's it. no elaboration

I don't even know where to speculate on the difference in bushings, without having them both to look at haha.

i mean... yeah even the subframe designs can't be THAT different, as they do bolt up, as the bushings do :/.. so confusing.. surely someone has had them side by side before?
