Just got mine today.

Euro Delivery on Oct 25th. Redelivery on Dec 23rd.

Picked up my 1 August 15. two weeks later, was on vacation in South Carolina for a week and when I came back, found 2 packages and a letter from BMW. One package was my leather bound '1 series' book, with identical VIN number and official certificate in the back. the other package was a book full of cd's/dvd's on BMW design, and the 1 series. It also included 2 books with all kinds of info on my new car. Gotta hand it to BMW, when you spend the money for their cars, they make you feel like you're part of something special.

135ipony: I've been told Volvo has a 'performance center' similar to BMW's, but my research turned up nothing. Do you know anything about this after buying a C30? I think every brand should offer a day of learning about your new car, but I suspect whoever told me about a Volvo PC was an idiot.

Not true, I called BMWNA and they said all year 1 cars get them...they told me there is normally a 6-8 week wait from the day the dealer sends the owner information through the computer after purchase. :wink:

I just got mine yesterday....10217.... It makes me want to keep my 1er forever... I'm only in the second chapter and I'm already sold in doing some mods and track days this summer. Can't wait.
I'm also planing a trip to the Colorado mountains just to drive it.

I never called, I just sent an email inquiring about Year One of the 1 on my start/stop roundel.

My 135i is a 2009, as it says on the registration paper, and the dealership papers and invoice. Build date was 11/2008. I think (and this is all conjecture) that as long as your build date was before 2009, this book should be yours.

All I did was inquire why my '09 had Year One of the 1, and BMW NA's email response was congratulations, your commemorative book is on its way.

:w00t: I wasn't going to argue with them and their 2009 and 2008 are both year one. I was just happy to be getting this awesome book with a personalized VIN Number and everything!

I'm keeping the box it came in, and all those little paper inserts and the plastic thing that separates the certificate from the rest of the book.

The box is cool. It says, "All cars come with an owner's manual. The 1 Series also comes with an adventure novel."

I know it's beating a dead horse, but I still don't have my book. I've called 4 times to BMWNA, they said they have sent it 3 times and I still don't have it. I will call again....

I'm pretty good about not really getting upset over things, but one of the main reasons I bought the car when I did was to get the book. Now that they are offering Lemans Blue, it seems like salt is being poured in my wound. I actually really like the car. I will love it if I ever get around to modifying the suspension. I do have to wonder if I would have jumped on an M3 sedan if I had just known that my income could have indeed supported it (it does). So, honestly I'm bummed mainly because of this blasted book.....depressing :iono:

Until your book arrives, you can watch my YouTube video over and over.

Did you try an email rather than a phone call? Verify they have your correct address...maybe they've sent 3 books to your neighbor or something.

Does BMWNA have your correct address? Is your are safe? The package is going in regular mail and doesn't fit in post box. So I found my package at front door.

Got my book, certificate, etc. today. December 2008 build of a 2009 135 convertible, delivery at the Welt Dec. 23. Still waiting for re-delivery. Ship due in New Jersey on Friday, Jan. 23.

Does your start button have engraved ring with words: year one of 1?
