It's all good, I'm just saying that adding the line "I know what I'm talking about" is a silly thing to do on the Internet where EVERYONE knows what their talking about.

But oil temps in our 1ers has never been an issue in stock form, and I track my car often. This summer I had a session with the air temps pushing over 90^F and my oil temp never went above 250.

Got to ride in a Crimson Red 2010 BMW 135i with the following options: BMW Performance Power Kit, BMW Performance Exhaust, BMW Performance Suspension Kit, and BMW Performance Short Shift Kit. Now first off the acceleration in this car in stock form is amazing, but after seeing and being in this car I was amazed. So much of an improvement in acceleration! I notice a bit of lag and sometimes too much and I have an early 2009 135i, but in this model with the performance goodies it wasn't even there. It just launched itself. The price of the power kit on the window sticker of the car was around $2300 so its not cheap. Dinan Stage 2 for less than that, but as much as I love power, I want piece of mind so will most likely settle for the BMW Performance tune. I know there are far more capable tunes from Active, Dinan, etc. but I like the added hardware such as the second radiator behind the driver's side brake duct, more powerful fan, and tune plus the fact that my warranty is not jeapordy. But the point of this post is to let you know that the Performance Power Kit demo is in the US, though the two that I saw (a black 335i coupe and red 135i coupe) were fitted at the VPC with these kits and though the window sticker stated $2300 approximately I have no idea what price it will be when it hits dealers. Maybe Dan would know? If this is old news, I apologize for the repost (just got back from Afghanistan so everything is new to me). By the way the cars I speak of are at the dealership at BMW of Honolulu (Hawaii).

I'm running 325BHP at present, so what will the BMW PP give me ?
Obviously my BMW Perf Exhaust / Helene Air filter / Air Scoops and FMIC are doing a good job. Am I likely to get 26BHP as a fixed gain ? Am I likely to get 26BHP+ as I have the FMIC that will add extra BHP due to less PSI loss and cooler temps? Am I likely to get Less than 26BHP due to accumulated Mods ? Anyone able to give me any ides on this ????? as I was hoping I would get 345 - 350 with it fitted.

I drove a 335 6pd manual with the tune and exhaust and I was not impressed. It was smoother that stock and a tad different. Even just the basic SSTT does more. But, I will say that the cooling hardware is impressive and the car did take longer for the oil temp to rise.

I have the Performance Exhaust on my car, but I think with the kit it would be slightly more aggressive. I definitely like the stance of their demo Performance 135i. We should meet someday, Cars and Coffee maybe?

Jeezez
My 2009 Euro Delivery 135 has been at the VPC for 3 weeks now, waiting to get the power kit and exhaust installed. The price I'm paying is similar to what's pictured and includes install (2360 for the kit, 1100 for the exhaust). Reading that people are driving 2010's with the kit has me pissed. Where is my fragging car already?! I bought it 3 months ago and took delivery 9-5!
Venting...

Finally got it!
I picked up my 2009 135i 6MT yesterday.
It had the Power Kit, Exhaust and SSK installed at Port Hueneme. This is really my first time driving the car hard since I broke it in during Euro Delivery, and since that was almost 3 months ago, it's hard to compare it to stock -- I apologize. My first impression (after just one day of driving) is that the power is very strong at full throttle, across the rpm range, but I think you need to be at full throttle for the ECU to deliver. Meaning, it seems very fast at WOT. Is that how the car performs stock? Does the stock ECU respond differently to a planted pedal? Also, I drove with TC/DTC full off most of the time and the tires have trouble putting the power down in 1st and 2nd at full throttle... a good problem to have but other owners say stock 135i's easily do the same thing... so, I'm not sure if that is due to the added power of the Power Kit, or just a function of the 245 runflat rears and a cool road surface. As far as oil temps, when I was running in the canyons, keeping the revs up, the oil temps got to the mid 240's, maybe close to 250. I'm not sure how that differs from stock either... which brings me to the obvious drawback. If this kit is installed at the port, the owner won't really be able to appreciate the difference from stock since the mods are done before delivery. I'll just have to be content that it delivers what BMW says it does, until I can drive a stock 6MT to compare. I paid $2372.50 and that included install but not tax. I did get the BMWCCA 10% parts discount, which basically paid for the tax (crazy CA Sales tax is now 9.75% in LA County where South Bay BMW is)

Well if you've already bought a Juicebox or are in the market for a JB type tune, BMW's tune is not what you're looking for. Different market. However if you're like me, getting a BMW tune and the supporting hardware that was designed by BMW, and comes with a BMW warranty -- it's great to have the option. I purchased my car and I'm thinking long-term. Not just "drive it til the lease is up and get rid of it." I want to maximize performance, while minimizing risk over the long haul. I bought the 135i as my commuter car and I plan to put 100K miles on it within 4 years. I don't like dealer visits or warranty hassles. As they say - "different strokes for different folks."

I drove both the 135i and 335i Performance Power Kit cars and I am satisfied, placed my order for my 135i yesterday. Very pleased.

and you can always put a jb+ on top of the powerkit to get a bit more out of it
Advantage is you have proper cooling and the better powercurve of the powerkit. |

I just can't see why a person would go this route, and not just a JB+ for a FRACTION of the price, for probably more performance. OK, warranty, maybe, but I've not heard about a JB+ user who's had a warranty voided.

I'm having my power kit installed as we speak and already super frustrated with my dealership. Last Thursday I was quoted for .7 hours for labor and it jumped to almost 4. Ended up being $420 to install the wheel (it was $500 before they took off some more). Same with my powerkit, initial quote was 2-3 hours. Then it jumped to 15 hours at $2500+. Saw another advisor and the quote dropped to $1,065 at around 4-5 hours. It came in yesterday and dropped it off for install this morning, they hit a snag and forgot to order the horn bracket. Now I have to wait a few days until it arrives and I have no car to drive. I love BMW, I really do and the parts they make but dealerships make me want to jump ship. Took some pics of the parts and had the install manual. Will post pics when I get my car back and a few videos. Wish me luck .
