I don't think they are too concerned with internals strength as people have been tuning this engine for 4 years with minimal issues.

Man, I absolutely love my 2010 135i...but found myself thinking this morning, 'Hey, I could sell it and go with the M!" It's amazing how we're truly '1addicts!'

agreed we got lucky with the N54 because BMW originally designed it as a 400hp motor and then retuned it for the street.

I see a lot of people saying this why would this be the case if it were the same motor? Are the turbos larger or different cam shafts? I would think it would be the same capability in the end if it were the same motor.

^ I wasn't saying that people wouldn't tune it. I'm just saying that the N54 is a very well built powerplant because it was designed as such a high output motor.
I'm just worried about a repeat of what happened with foxbody mustangs. Were the car was designed for 230 hp and when pushed to around 300 hp the connecting rods would break |

It's not a carbon Diffuser. Here is the full size unreduced version of the picture I took. It's just the flash reflecting off the metal heat shield.

I wasn't clear enough.
I meant to said that the marketing/product guys need to figure out better. Still don't get it why would change the Letter/Number old time BMW M division branding trademark just because there is a previous M1. The case of Z's are a good example of adjusting names based on new products and/or model evolution. Z1, Z3, Z4, Z8, Z4 (again) and Z2 coming soon. just IMO..... |

Dude I pointed the "CF" out originally and I dont even know anymore. I can see both arguments. But it does look the color and tight weave of CF. I just dont know for sure anymore. Im hoping its CF though. |

Its def CF because there is no way a reflection would wrap around like that.
I am inclined to think that this car has some upgrades on it like a performance package because its got a cf diffuser and csl wheels plus other possible things we don't see. I would imagine that this car would lots of things that would be available as options to a 135 owner through bmw performance, i.e. cf diffuser, cf mirrors, etc. I have to say I am extremely excited about this car and it looks very promising. I am very inclined to trade my 328xi for this when it comes out. The only thing that would hold me back would be the price point. Anything over $57-58 will be a bit absurd because you could get a base m3 then.

So I think the real question is why didn't an overly excited and overly intoxicated enthusiast run up to the car and rip off the cover?
