Also looking to pick those up eventually. I want to go a bit lower than the msport suspension and want it to be just a tad stiffer. I had a deal on a used pair but the guy never got back to me.

Recently, I discovered the SWIFT Spec-R spring for e82. They have been designed for Msport shocks, offer Eiback levels of drop spring rates close to BMW PS. Everything I read about them says stability in cornering & speed, comfort, and nice conservative drop. No negatives except 370z guys saying they settled more 6 months in for front. Pairing them with quality shocks makes them even better. Seems like what I need, giving me time to understand shock options and make the current suspension work better.

my msport shocks are basically new.. well like 8-9k miles on them since i installed them. I think i'm just gonna go with eibach springs, then when my shocks blow eventually i'll go to coil overs along with full m3susp with m3 bushings in the back.. but thats a loottt of money so it wont be for a while.
I'm curious about the swift springs, i've only heard great things about swift.

And yes, Swift does seem interesting option based on their reputation. I was very surprised to see just glowing reviews for spec-r line. And for coilovers, they make usually fix issues of many Taiwan offerings and Tien for e36

I suppose i should learn springs rates as well. On my old jeep they were much softer than what is on our cars. I DD my car a lot so i don't want too rough of a ride, on the stock msport is really nice right now but there's slightly more dive than i want. I could sacrifice a little more for less and live with it. And from what i read eibach are the stiffer between them and HR.
Finally pulled the trigger on a set of used eibach springs i got for a good deal. Hoping i can get those in as fast as possible. Hopefully my spacers don't cause any rubbing. I have to get an alignment anyway, so i'll get one after the springs are in. I'm going to knock out my camber alignment pins too and try to get as much as possible, which will still probably be under a full negative degree.

I'm not spending any money on anything other than a straight M3/1M conversion with TCK coilovers.

That would be a much better setup as you are getting a properly valved strut for the spring.

Meh. This is a simple cheap solution to buy me time until i can get KW's. I don't expect it to be the greatest set up but it's also only a DD as of now, so it very rarely will see any abuse.
Plus my Msport springs sit at virtually the same height as my non-sport suspension did. Not sure why but it never settled as much as i expected it to, and it has about 10k miles on it now. An inch lower won't kill the struts ridiculously fast, not like HR super sports at least. And when i put the msport springs in, i put in msport shocks that were just as low mileage as the springs. I'm only looking to have them buy me over until the end of summer.

See how yours compares, maybe you have old bump stops or smth that's left over from stock susp. Maybe you can look up the lowering perch for e90 front's, its about $75 and drops the front by 0.5 for more rake

I have about a three finger gap all around. I want my tires to be flush with the tires, i think an inch from where i am would be perfect for my taste. Hopefully this is that or a tad higher preferably. Can't go too low or i'll be scraping my lip everywhere. It's cheap but i don't want to tear off my bumper haha.

I wish i had a lift so i could install my springs myself. I don't have any BMW buddies locally that know what they're doing.
Edit: also here something for everybody to flame about.

Too easy. You didn't do exactly the same mods I have/will do, didn't get the same exterior color as I chose nor interior color and fabric. Dear God, I have a 6MT/DCT/7 speed auto, what were you thinking when you chose your 6MT/DCT/6 speed auto? How can you live with your flabby, piece-of-sh*t stock/ridiculously over-spec'ed/perfectly balanced suspension/brakes/tires/wheels? My NA/Turbo is so much better than your Turbo/NA! Hell, you can't do the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.
You, my good man/woman, are a douche. (body kit sucks/is sick though) |

hahah that got me laughing. I thought i'd get shit for the m stripes on the grills and for the plasti dipped wheels. Grill stripes are going to be leaving soon, just feels too weird having them on a non M-car. However the plasti dip will be staying for a long time, i love white on gold wheels.

I realized when i lower, i'll probably rub because of my 15mm spacers all around.. looks like i'll be rolling and possibly pulling my fenders. I like my fitment too much to change spacers
