That's like twice the value of my car sitting on the tables right there

Wash and spray wax. Vacuum'd interior, gave a small layer of wax in the door jams so they're nice and shiny. Wiped down door/window seals with some Lexol, polished exhaust tips.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe
But honestly I started it with the intentions of just having a spot to spam pictures of my car without my non car friends getting annoyed/unfollowing me.

So this happened today.
Already clayed, glad i used the iron out, claybar had very little on it. Now to wipe it clean and hit it with auto finesse tripple a few times. |

Set up an inspection so I can pick it up tomorrow.
It's a 135i M-Sport DCT Vert Black (Terra interior) with 72k miles. 13,750 (including "conveyance") I think it's a good deal, 2 owners |

Being a DCT I assume it's a 2011 or newer. That does sound like a good deal, almost too good to be true. I would make sure to check if it's been in an accident before

Wow all that after claying? Glad I got some IronX for my detail and ceramic coating this spring.

Pre washed, washed, rinsed then Iron Out. Waited 15 minutes since the temp was hovering between 0c and -1c. Then rinsed after Iron out then clayed. Wiped the car down with a solvent based bug and tar remover, to catch anything the clay did not (it was so cold i had to keep adding hot water to soften the clay). The pad i used was grey so i am glad i did that. Sadly, 1 hit of triple barely did anything (it is an AIO) but then again it was already -3c or so. Such products are not really designs to be used at 6c or lower, but at least there is a layer of wax that should last 1 month or so. Next week we have the Sibirien winds hitting Germany, expected to reach -7c day time and -16c at night, hence why i rushed to get as much done as possible to gain some sort of protection. When it gets warm, i will use a light polishing pad and hit the car again, taking several passes on each panel to make sure the product it being worked properly. Only then can i decide if the car needs to go to a pro (scratches are too much) or decide to have a glaze on top instead. |

Ordered a crap ton of parts (might have mentioned this in my build thread) for an OFHG replacement, an OEM N52 oil cooler (water-oil) retrofit, and a coolant flush (water wetter and drain plug because BMW plastics). Also put an offer in on a 135i gauge cluster to swap in (also mentioned this in Gauge Cluster Swap thread), I can't wait to have an oil temp gauge!

I have some theories on why it's so low (it's winter, the car is out of place for the type of dealership, and they hoped to make some money on financing [they tried to charge a fee for not financing... got out of that, but had no chips left for getting out of the conveyance fee]), but I'll take it if the inspection is good. First owner did 8k miles a year in Florida Second owner got it as a CPO did *a lot* of miles in Arkansas, almost 40k miles in just under 2 years which is either a blessing if they loved the car so much they took great care of it while dallying with a bunch of highway miles, or a curse if they just hooned it into the ground and got rid of it... Both locations are low on salt which is great. And there's an open recall on it for the airbags that'll I'll have to deal with. Main concern right now is the softop, it looks saggy and worn... Paint is also not looking mint (those scratches in the rear, ugh) ... But overall I'm optimistic, they're not hiding anything (almost 100 pictures and there are closeups of everything you could ever want) so for now I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt Last edited by us_gh; 02-23-2018 at 08:46 PM.. |
