I'm with you there. I bought the tow hook mount but I'm waiting to get a fix it ticket before I break down and use it. It's been over a year and haven't been pulled yet. I don't think it's a high priority enforcement here or haven't had a cop bored enough to make the stop yet. Of course now that I say that...

I haven't had a front plate for more than 20 years and have never had a problem. I think the enforcers out here don't really care about that and will only cite you for it if they pull you over for something else. At least that's my experience... also haven't been pulled over in more than 20 years. Whoops, now I've said it as well. Haha!

Finally got some aggressive cutting pads, tried to remove some scratches.

Sadly, nothing, same results, the paint is just rock hard for any kind of correction by hand. Now i have to look for a professional to correct the whole car (more $$$$)

Why not get your own polisher?

Mounted one of my spare tires, a take off runflat, on the spare rime I recently bought. Nice to have a ready spare if I need it since I no longer have runflats.

Because i live in an apartment and i do not have a garage.

I would love to do it myself though, there is a do it yourself workshop 30 mins away. Maybe i can rent their polisher and get my own pads....

IMO, it's kinda a PITA without a garage for a novice. You'll be chasing your own tail without a somewhat controlled environment. Even as a novice, it takes *a lot of time*.

I've got all the tools but now I kinda wish I just paid someone to polish it...

Well, I wanted to do the OFHG and thermostat/water pump both at once, along with cleaning the intake valves, since there's so much common ground involved, but, well...., BMW....

So I earned the OFHG merit badge this weekend all by itself. Managed to bork up the brake booster vacuum hose in the process, another victim of much heat and heat cycling, but no big deal, it's easy to swap out (part # 11667570497), those stupid squeeze to release tabs just shattered. New hose ordered...

Want to get an eyeball on the intake valves since I have the manifold loose. I've already got the OFH cleaned to the point of being sterilized & reinstalled, so probably tomorrow will check out the valves and such...

Kinda impressed at how squished the old gaskets were

That's how mine were flat and flush with the plane. I figured no wonder there was oil getting everywhere

In other news I accidentally let my 1 fall off jack stands!!! No major damage but I'm a terrible person

Ouch. Could you tell us how you did that so we don't make the same mistake?

It's easy just don't be stupid and tired. I put the front tires on the ground first and when I lifted the back it rolled forward

Shit happens... when it happens the second or third time we'll be laughing at you rather than with you

I'm not religious or whatever, but, safe to say all of us are thinking some variation of "there, but for the grace of god, go I...."

That is generally regarded as how not to do it...

It's okay, though, I got to witness my dad pull his FWD Jetta onto ramps on a shiny concrete floor. Those ramps shot into the rocker panel with some real force...

Went over to Ernie Bello Motorsports in West Palm Beach and got new suspension installed today.

This is what it looks like when you are about to install the Ohlins R&T kit in your 135i. Pic of the adjusters in the trunk area, yes! And of course ya gotta include a before & after

The ride home was a quick 45 min. drive but the difference is staggering. Far superior at FL highway speeds. Firmer yet also smoother. On/off ramps at speed accelerating with no concerns. I read other posts that said confidence inspiring and I have to agree. Planted & accurate.

Ride height/ fender gap looks bout the same, pretty impressed that you went for function over looks.

Compared to the old & worn out, and going with not only new, but better, it must feel amazballs in comparison. I'm soooo jealous right now, at 76k and I'm very sure my stock suspension is completely worn out. Alas, it'll be a good while till I get to that point in my old age maintenance schedule

Thanks 1and1

This was right at my target ride height. It's right at 3/8" lower all around. Better handling and the proper preload & ride height were my goals for this set up.

Next step in the evolution might be 245 or 255 square. Not sure I could get 255/35 square in there but I might try.

Anyone have two rear rims they want to sell??
