I am referring to one of my previous laps, where I ran a full 3 sec faster than you (2:15). This was done without a tune, with stock seats and stock suspension. My car has CONSIDERABLE body roll in the corners, so I lose a lot of time compared to your much stiffer coil over setup.
You mention running AD08 "street tires", but in all honesty the coefficient of grip for those extreme performance tires are pretty darn close to NT-01s (and probably more bc I'm running a 235/40 18 square setup vs I'm guessing a 225-45/255-65 staggered setup). The difference would only be noticeable after several laps, when the AD08s would get greasy. I ran Kuhmos before these NT-01s and ran 2:17s, no problem... Also, armyav8tor is spot on with his GPS comment. That lap it is pretty evident that I was not running an external GPS, so its really not possible to compare the speeds (look at how they skip around mid-corner). You have to make sure the compression settings/GPS settings are the same, otherwise speeds can be "estimated" instead of real... Quote:

Nope i'm running a 235/sq setup. And the kw v2's have just as much body roll as I did when i was stock b/c of the progressive springs. The gps isn't the most accruate thing in the phone, but it still gives a pretty good idea of what you're doing where. Again just trying to see what I can do different and where

As for improving your time, here are some friendly tips: Fastest through every corner isn't always the goal. Remember, it depends on the turn of the track. A lot of these, you will "throw away" or apex a little later (with less speed) so you can get on the gas sooner. The most important places are the turns before long straights... Two places where you can improve your time are turns 10 and 14. Turn 10 you are going about 10mph slower through there than I usually do. You can easily do 90 through there no prob, just make sure you dont apex too early bc then you'll be headed off track and down the hill on exit. DO NOT LIFT. On the end of the back straight, you are wasting a lot of time in the braking zone. You are braking too early, and are coasting through a good portion. Practice pushing your braking zone later and later with each lap. You should eventually be able to do all of your braking starting at the 1 marker (or even at the arrow), vs at the 3 marker. The track is at an incline in this braking zone, so the compression gives you tooooons of grip. |

Hey I was interested to see if you are going to VIR February 22 for the driving school. My boss and his son are instructors for Tarheel BMW and I will be making my way up there with them that weekend to go watch and check things out...I'd really like to see some 135's out there because I am very interested in buying 1 as soon as I finish paying my wrangler off which is very soon.

Sounds great...I can't wait to see your car in person as we have no modded 1's here in Eastern NC...We will be there Saturday...Look for a white Carrera 4 with GT aero package and gunmetal BBS wheels, a white E46 M3, a red/orange E30 m3 with black oz supperleggra wheels, and if we get it running in time a white e30 325 with a red hood and cage(its a chump car hints the red hood). I should be somewhere around one of them...My name is Corey...see you there.

The 370Z from the factory has these little padded bolsters for your knees to brace yourself in aggressive corners. Considering they won't be putting buckets in a factory Z car, I think that's kinda a clever idea...

bavstig, nice pick up. can't wait to hear your impression on the JRZ's. I think you should be able to shave a few more seconds off your time. had no idea JRZ had a kit for our car. I know they had for the 1M but their application is a little different than ours. do they come with their own camber plates or will you be using vorshlags?

What spring rate did you pick up with the JRZ?
