Andrew you sure this graph is right? I can't find them but I've seen couple N52 dyno's with all of them over 210HP as peak power, and adding about how the drive-train loss is very small.

Yes, this Dyno displays the true Performance Gains over Stock. The Performance Gain would be slightly greater with Drop In Filter and Performance Exhaust System. The Drivetrain loss in a Automatic is greater compared to a manual transmission, nonetheless Performace increase is noticed throughout the entire RPM Band.

Almost a week with the tune
killswitch did an excellent job of describing the reasoning behind getting the AA tune. For me, there are two main differences between the D and DS modes:
* The handling response in DS mode is just beautiful. In D mode, handling is solid, if unspectacular. In DS mode, the car moves like it's reading my mind. * In D mode, there is a noticeable lag between pressing the accelerator from stop and actually getting motion. It's noticeable enough that when my cousin tried out my bimmer, he asked immediately what that lag was. This lag disappears in DS mode. It was the latter issue that caused me to finally spring for the AA tune. I have to give a mad shoutout to JLevi Streetworks, who installed the tune for me last week. They did an amazing job, and Brian was possibly the most polite "mechanic" I've ever met. If they did more install work, my money would disappear pretty quickly down their way. It's now been roughly a week since I got the tune. I had no check engine light issues, something that Brian warned me might happen, and overall the new software was immediately apparent. I spend 90% of my time in D mode, much like killswitch. The only times I really tend to drive in DS mode is when I'm on the freeway, where the increased pickup and response help me cut through the CA traffic. When I was driving home from JLevi, I kept the car in D the entire time. It was immediately apparent that the throttle lag was gone. I press the accelerator, the car goes. I almost rear-ended cars a couple times because I was used to having that lag there to allow me to slow start. I had to adjust to that change real fast. Now, a week in, I am really loving driving the car in D. I've not had a chance to spend a lot of time in DS mode, but frankly I don't know that I'll be able to feel as much of a difference. The added HP is not so significant that I'm going to suddenly be racing Porches on the freeway. The car seems to shift around the 2.5K - 3.5K RPM mark, depending on which gear it's in and when I am doing hard acceleration, the shifting is definitely delayed, seemingly into the 6K range. Power definitely seems more evenly distributed across the range. I've often called my 128 my mistress. Now that I've had the tune, it's like my mistress suddenly got a boob job. :-) I highly recommend this tune to anyone who can afford it - it's something that should have been part of the stock car, and I'm a little annoyed at BMW that I had to go aftermarket to improve my "Ultimate Driving Experience".

Congrats on the tune Gray67 and enjoy every single bit of it!
I guess this would be a good time to do a small follow up review. I'll try to keep it short and simple. The tune still does it job which for me is lighten up that horrid throttle lag that for the most part plagues BMW cars equipped with the automatic transmission. For the most part it does and enough to make driving the city street of Houston livable. Yet this does not fall on the shoulders of AA but on BMW for not making a more drivable transmission out of the factory. I find my self driving in DS mode more - probably 40% of the time now. As far as gas consumption, I never recorded the stock consumption before the tune. To date with mix driving between stop and go traffic on the freeway and inner street signs and lights I get ~24 - 24.6 mpg. And that's with some considerable aggressive driving lately. I get 26 - 28 if I stay off the throttle and do some conscious fuel saving driving. The most I ever had my car read off the car data is 35 mpg but that is with some serious hyper-mileageing for about 10 miles straight (i read an article about it so i decide to give it a try). As with Gray67, myself and other 1ers with the auto trans - why the throttle lag? If anyone could explain this or anyone who work for BMW could explain this...why(other than the transmission is ) ? Well as of 15 minutes ago, I am out of warranty! Just hit 50k miles with my 2009 MT 128.
I am curious about this tune, and how effective on MT models. I see AT guys have a solid benefit with reduced lag, but is it really worth on MT?

I didn't notice anyone mention about a top-speed limiter removal.
Does the AA tune have it? I ask because my 128i came w/o the sport package and I'm limited to 130mph, which is no good for the autobahn. |

Does the flashloader that you sell come with "performance" maps, or is that an extra charge? That is, if I buy the flashloader, do I also have to purchase your ECU tune(s)?

If I do the 330 intake manifold, can you enable the DISA valves in addition to this tune?
