Should be traveling to Philly next week for work. I might have to swing by and we can trade some knowledge. I just did a Magnaflow "Catback" and an Active tune on a 128i Manual. I was thinking my next mod would be suspension but after this I am not so sure. The only thing that would stop me is price because these are definitely not cheap

Thanks, good luck to you as well. I'm doing a Physician Assistant program and don't need to worry about an internship as I'm active duty Navy and have the job thing pretty much figured out. What I don't have right now is time, either to mod or head to the track, but I will definitely get back to it ASAP. Going on 3 years of ownership, and this car is still a blast - looking forward to the time when I can give it the attention it deserves once again!

I'd really really like to do that before I buy them this summer, this may be the first project I undertake with my new 128, I've already put 3k miles in the 3 weeks of owning it . My girlfriend lives near philly, I'll have to make a pit stop or something to check it out if that would work!

I'm more likely to do SS exhaust if I do do a muffler for the weight savings.

I see "Grad School" etc in this post... i was afraid i was getting too old to be tinkering with the Bimmer... but you all have made me feel a bit better. I think im going to grab these headers in the next few weeks/days.

Definitely not too old though. You are close enough you could check them out first. Either way, I definitely endorse them. Power gains aside, they give the car a perfect amount of character.

dyno
I noticed their dyno they're making 275whp.
That can't be just with the headers and the intake manifold (which you have) Can you hurry up and dyno your car! Lol |

I believe its 275 flywheel HP, or 220-230 at the rear wheels depending on the drivetrain loss% you use. i think Stig will be right on the head of 300 flywheel HP, or 250ish rear wheel power which is IMHO the perfect amount to stay balanced but quick.

SS's dyno measures drivetrain loss of deceleration-- what they're showing is flywheel hp. Green line is drivetrain loss. blue line is wheel horse power light red is flywheel hp before headers (blue + green) dark red is flywheel hp after headers orange lines are torque before and after headers 275 (+20 hp) flywheel hp is where a factory tuned DISA/SS car should be. That should be the minimum stig has. Add to the the Evolve tune gains and performance intake gains, and you get where he actually is. My guess would be 285-290 flywheel hp. 285 flywheel hp with 17% drivetrain loss (typical) would put him at 237rwhp. So... that's what I would expect.
