haha this reminds me of my wait. Though I couldn't find anyone else on my boat.
As you know, this only gets more difficult. The port wait as they install the IS stuff is another mountain to climb. Then there's transport to the dealership. Then they have to prep it. And that pic above is absolutely classic! Didn't notice the toreador on the horizon at first. hahaha.

Greg, great pic and artistry work! But after all we've been through together, I would have thought you'd at least fit my AW convertible in there with you! After all, there's plenty of room on the sand there....
mb135is - Do you remember how long the car was at the port for install of the IS stuff? I have no idea what to expect there-- maybe a week? |

And trying to find pictures without red interiors was very hard.
Looks like the Toreador is off radar again, too. Probably doesn't want us to find it after that stunt we pulled at the beach. Maybe this is how cars get coral red interiors though - they are sunburns from too much sunbathing in the Azores. |

The Toreador is in...THE FUTURE!
The Toreador has now traveled into uncharted waters...in...THE FUTURE!!!!!
I thought waiting 3 weeks was going to be rough, but now it looks like it's traveled to March 31, 2017!!! So, it'll be another 4 years and 3 weeks before we get our precious babies. And then I realized that was just the timestamp. |

Anyone care to join me down in the boiler room? I need to light a fire under this bathtub and get it moving cross the Atlantic. Not just your normal jonesing for the 135 to arrive ... this morning I'm crossing the Golden Gate Bridge on the way to work and the oil light in my A4 starts flashing and beeping like a madman ... 4 miles and 15 minutes later I limp into the gas station and pour 3 quarts of oil down the gullett which is enough to make it into work ... just before the oil pan blows pouring 5 quarts all over the garage. (No the guys working down there were not happy with me.)
3 weeks shy of the new ride. Classic. |

ETA -- Hole in the lower oil pan. Will cost me $400, plus some really high grade oil to make up for the "old gal" thing. Last edited by EatMyDust; 04-03-2013 at 05:23 PM.. |

Never met a woman who liked being called "old gal" and if it gives you any solace, my Audi's service last week was $583. And may have lost my buyer today for my current car. Let's just blame audi for everything. Next, pirates will take our boat.

Mine ended up only being there 4 - 5 days or so, which I didn't think was too bad. I've heard worse from others, though.

Ah! Now the Toreador is showing ETA at Port Hueneme on April 18 instead of April 17. Must have been that delay picking us up from the Azores.

Gawd this progress is killing ME and I'm not even a vested party in this. This is the one time I've been happy to live on the east coast.

This is why friends don't let friends post to forums after midnight. Now I've got to go powerwash my car. So much for swimming over to PR for some more mojitos on the beach.

All I meant was that the boat (a motorboat as opposed to a sailboat) was going at full speed ahead between those two islands. That's all. It's nice to know it has completed this portion of its miraculous and epic voyage and inching closer to the Panama Canal. Now if only we can figure out what to do with these darn Audis! |

The Toreador seems to have fallen off the radar ... I was thinking it would show up more frequently now that we're back near land. I'm getting bored sitting on the ship. I've read the manual twice, played with the Nav, turned the heated seats on and off, and blasted the tunes for a while but now I just want to make landfall. Legs are getting wobbly and there's nowhere on board to drive. I'm feeling a little like that picture from Dali, The Hallucinogenic Toreador

I think it'll show back up once it makes it through the canal and pops out the other side. Then the excitement begins as it slowly makes its way up baja.
Funny, never heard of that painting before and I simply do not "get" the painting. Hopefully the captain isn't hypnotized by it. I'm getting bored on the boat, too. Only so many midnight buffets I can handle. The director of entertainment, who seemed kinda funny the first few days I'm getting more and more annoyed by with each passing day. If you need me, I'll be in the casino playing blackjack and sipping on my half pina coladas/half strawberry daquiris, virgin of course. |
