To start off, 5W30 as recommended oil?! Really?! All of the useful information (part numbers) could be fit into 3 pages, rest 55 is blanks to write in my oil changes?! Oh boy... 1 Year/30K miles for the Air Filter?! Is required annual change or recommend? Most of 1M(s) have 3K/year avg mileage... Don't get me started on the water pump and other things... I was under impression it will save me time researching internet on maintenance dyi, not the case here... In essence, I am comparing this to Acura Maintenance Book, a comprehensive owner dyi manual... this E82 manual far and away from it In summary, seems like a waste of $50 |

Regarding the oil: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=620282 07 51 0 017 866 SAE 5W-30 This book is based off regular driving. Not really intended for users who never drive their cars. You should seek a specialist in preserving and maintaining the car if it is never driven. This was never stated as a manual or DIY book, it is designed as a convenient way to log your information. Thanks!

Hey all just a friendly bump for these I've recently redesigned the books since its almost been 4 years since the first editions. The books are now being made with coil binding. This allows the books to open a lot easier and wider for ease of use when writing down information. They also have new covers with updated design and more accurate depiction of the factory colors.
Here is the store link if any one is interested. XOEM- BMW 1M Maintenance Journal Thanks all!

Thanks! It was very fun to get the VO color to be a perfect match to the OEM paint.
You can get the journals here: https://xoem.co/products/bmw-1m-maintenance-journal I am still working on pricing these correctly. Appreciate any feedback.
