The 135i will be my daily driver. I have some other vehicles for hauling people and toys.

Daily driver... and not looking forward to the snow in the winter, although I've heard that with snow tires it's not too bad - only that you run into ground clearance issues when the snow is heavy. Those are the days you tell the boss you're working from home
@malves85 and ruffstik: I'm also interested in what you guys come up with for winter wheel/tire combos. Any ideas? Did a search on winter tires, and not seeing much yet... :iono:

@Chicago1 - I was looking on Tirerack.com and the options seem pretty slim....I'm assuming they will have more options in the fall maybe? It's times like this I wish I lived in the South!

I was thinking about keeping my Corolla as a daily and using the 1er on the weekends. But that idea went out the window after driving the 1er home from the dealership.
Sold the Corolla on Friday. |

Daily driver -- unless it is snow and ice -- then Avalanche or Audi.
Occasional Track use when it is too much trouble to use the 911 (truck and trailer).

As Tire Rack lists a 17" wheel for the 135i, that + the Dunlop WinterSport 3D in a 205/50VR17 size should be a great combo for winter driving. The 17" size will give better foul weather performance and the alternate wheels will save your OEMs from salt and other winter road crap. A small 12v compressor and plug kit should take care of any flat tire worries. Or, Tire Rack lists a Continental winter RFT in the same size. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....tnum=05VR7WS3D Tom |

It will technically be my "daily driver", since it will be the only car I have.* However I work from home and last year I only put about 2K miles on my car including a couple of road trips to the bay area and down to Southern California. So I don't expect to put many commuter miles on the 135i. Although I'm probably going to take it on a road trip somewhere right away so I can get over that 1200 mile hump and start pushing it to red line on occasion.
Dan * The wife has two cars, a Miata for the summer and a AWD Subaru for the winter. However she has a 30+ mile commute to work every day. |

It'll be my only car.... kind of a switch from the past where I've had a beater to drive every day, and a cool car that sat in the garage saving miles for the next owner!
Now at least I'll be forced to drive the cool car all the time... screw the next owner!

Daily drive until I move back to the states next year, then I'll pick up a first gen Audi A4 Quattro for use as the daily beater, especially if the commute is long or otherwise potentially hazardous.
