So...today didn't go quite as planned. We started doing runs with the tuned mapping, but Evolve saw something that they wanted to check out before continuing. In the end, we had to delay the rest of the tuned runs; we only ended up getting solid readings for the stock ECU. After Evolve has time to check everything out, we'll have another go at it.
I wish I had better news... At the very least, here are the stock dyno results: 211 HP, 192 TQ. |

I really wanted to see the result of the tune . Hopefully it doesn't take too long to make whatever adjustment they want to make.
How much does it cost to get a dyno test done? I'm kind of curious how much variance there is in a dyno test. |

This thread is about n51
@harrytruman has said he has a n51, Evolve has commented they did all the 125i n52 changes to the n51 tune The dyno shows 211 whp in SAE for his stock car, possibly optimistic dyno. The dyno is missing the humps on the curves that are common with Disa optimization

It's not - look at the first graph posted. A changeover is shown at 2800rpm and again at approximately at 4300rpm. It looks smooth because of the scale, the increments listed on HP/TQ are in 25.

Thanks for the stock N51 dyno charts! Out of curiosity how many miles are on the car? Manual tranny I'm hoping?
(of course it's a manual, TheSt|g wouldn't post in your thread if it wasn't, unless he was mocking your tranny choice - and who can blame him) Looking forward to the next update.

I just finished moving (started the move right after dyno day) so the past couple weeks have been hectic. Things have been a bit slow-going lately. I just sent Imran some more info, so I should hear back soon.
I just hit 50,000 miles about two weeks ago. And yes, manual. Well, this one. My first 1er was automatic (steptronic) -- I chose poorly. |
