Hi There:
Im wondering if someones knows what is the differents between 125i Coupe (Mexican version) and 128i Coupe (American version), because I have had to get lower my coupe with EIBACH Pro-kit progressive performance springs part # 2098.140 but Im not sure if they will assemble in my 125i coupe. Thanks for your help. Last edited by Cris C125i; 03-11-2010 at 04:27 PM.. |

Set at 1.75" from max drop front. About 0.5" from max drop rear. May have to raise a bit because the alley I have to drive through to get to my parking garage has a nasty dip and I scrape the resonators on it now. I think my fronts are too low, I think something is hitting on rough road, maybe the sway bar and some other suspension component are now too close, I feel/hear a slight clunk. I don't think the suspension was designed to be this low in front. Note: it has settled a bit more in front than the pictures show. |

makes sense. I find the stock suspension feels a bit hollow somehow sometimes, reminds me of the feeling of the old Z3s..... I'm just wondering if that feeling is all down to the weight of the wheels and tires, or if that funny feeling is the suspension setup BMW goes with.
I don't mind a hard ride, but i don't like a bouncy ride or a teeth shattering ride. but i guess coilovers should take care of that. thanks for the info. And i think that 1.75 is definitely low. I went that low on the front of a subaru and 2 inches at the back.... i had to life the back up about half an inch to get some drivabilty back. I loved the handling though. |

Is there anything warranty-wise I should worry about for getting something other than BMW suspension bits put on my car? I was thinking of Eibach Pro-kit springs. Can just the BMW Performance springs be installed or does the whole BMW Performance Suspension (the one for about $1500) have to be done?

I have seen some ppl use the Perf Springs with other shocks. Sure why not?
I think the main reasons are three fold why everyone seems to go with Perf Suspension. 1). Warranty & Designed to work properly and tuned for our cars. 2). Best package deal. ie: it comes with everything you need: shocks, sprigs, front sway bar and all the misc mounting hardware. 3). price. The PS is cheaper than going your own route on springs and shocks. |
