No, this would have no effect on the pass dashboard airbag.

Thank you to EAS for the awesome how to post/video.

I just put a set of Pole Positions in my car and swapped over the factory belt receptacles, coded out the chime, OC3, and SIAB stuff but I still had both lights on the dash.

The car was throwing codes for the Seat Position Sensors. In my research before buying the seats I had not read anything about this so I wanted to get it out there. I guess these sensors are not on the m3's but they were on my 2010 128i.



This magnetic pickup sensor needs to be swapped over and plugged into the harness under both seats and the codes will go away along with both lights.











Not trying to bust in on EASs awesome write up that I used for my installation, but hopefully this helps 1 series owners.

The sensors started appearing on MY10+ M3s, most 1-series models had them. As long as they can be seen (or coded out) you'll be fine.

Reviving old thread. Just installed racing seats on my 2013 135is and did this to prevent airbag light. Air bag light is on after turning car on. Do i need to code it out still?

Yes. Swapping the sensor over only takes care of the seat position sensor. The coding is to remove the codes for the side airbags that were in your factory seats.

thanks for the quick reply.

any chance you know which values to code out? i have the software already i just need to know which ones to disable. i tried doing is before but the light was still on
