i'm looking forward to seeing the next F32 M3 more for curiosity than a replacement to the 1M as i think the new M3 won't be miracle in terms of size & weight .
a replacement for the 1M would be more the M2 than the next M3 .. |

The price makes the Cayman R not so competitive for me. It is a very good car but I would buy a Boxster Spyder instead last year (for me more interesting car than Cayman R) and for the years ahead we need to wait and see what Porsche will bring with the new generation, I didn't like the new Boxster getting an electric steering for a starter. As I said pricepoints are too different anyway and will likely remain so. I am hearing that they may develop something even smaller and cheaper with smaller engines, maybe that could be interesting.

How much is the 1M cheaper than the Cayman R in your country? In HK, 1M is about 38% cheaper than the Cayman R,that's why I opted for the 1M first and plan to get an used 987 Cayman S/R after 981 launched. Yes, I prefer the 987 more at this moment, hope it would change after having a 981 testdrive. |

The fact is I would not pay that much more for a Cayman R, diplomat or not. A very good car but at least in most markets it is overpriced like every other Porsche. |
