When I picked up my car at the BMW Performance Center, they told me the 135is is the only car in the BMW lineup that everyone in the building can hear when the engine is started indoors. The Product Specialist filmed me in the customer delivery room as I started up my 135is for the first time and drove out the doors and into the sunset… it is louder than hell. My first thought was "holy $#!%… what have I done?!?!"

The day I picked it up, I could hear the guy coming a block away as I sat in the showroom and said, wait, I hear it coming! It's loud from the outside, but not so much from the inside. And it's really loud on a cold start for the first 10-15 seconds and then settles down. This morning I had my door open when I turned it on and it was too loud for me in my garage, so I had to close my door. Depending on how old your kids are, just let them sit in the driver's seat and rev it a few times, and they'll be so ecstatic, they won't care that it wakes them up for the next however many months. Then repeat when effects wear off. |

I don't imagine my neighbors enjoy the daily wake up at 6:45 am. Oh well!
