Sure, you COULD do it. BUT YOU SHOULDN'T, cobb already can run 15psi+ on hot, humid days and the piggy back will just boost over top of that. That will only lead to very bad things, sooner or later. I've seen someone(can't remember who) who did a test of this very thing, and it made damn good power. But he was running 100 octane and meth for just one or two passes down the 1/4 and is nowhere near safe enough to even consider doing it on a daily basis

If the ECU is wiped clean (my previous question), will BMW know or suspect you are using a tuner? I understand there are other reasons to why one would erase the ECU, but it is a concern of mine. BTW...I did purchase the Access Port the other day from Alan so, I guess time will tell. Looking forward to receiving the unit |

The thing to me that would immediately point to "something odd" at a dealership would be the long term fuel trims. If the tech sees the dme is using way more fuel over a period of time and no sign that the car has been running rich, then he should know something fishy is going on. Nothing provable, but would raise some question

There needs to be a separate thread for people to repeat the same question over and over and over again day after day...
It would look like this... Any word on N55? What about the 1M? Stage 2? N55? +1 1M? Stage 2? Stage 2? +1 Stage 2? Stage 2? +1 N55? N55? Stage 2? 1M? International Support? Stage 2? Stage 2? +1 this thread has become increasingly useless... y'all should have bought an N54!! J

I'll chime in on what's happening with my N54 motor and my Cobb, a little update from last week or so.
I got a SES light with a misfire cylinder 2 error about 2 weeks ago. Once I uninstalled the cobb I couldnt' get the light to come back on. I needed some other warranty work done on the car so I brought it to the dealer. They replaced the HPFP and checked the injectors (all were ok) got the car back, got the same code again when I loaded the Cobb again. As soon as I hit about 4500rpm the car studders, the ses light comes on and my car sounds like a misfiring speed boat. At this point, the only way I can drive my car is to leave it in stg 0 or uninstall the Cobb. I am now going to move the spark plug from cylinder 2 to a different cylinder and see if the problem follows the plug or if the coilpack is bad. I just have to wait forever for someone get the 14mm 12 point spark plug socket in stock or shipped to me. ECS is out of stock, Sears sells it, but only online and estimates shipping around July 18!? Once I get that socket I'll hopefully put my finger on the cause but needless it say, once the car is tuned, it's EXTREMELY hard to go back to stock. The plugs only have 17k on them. Annoying.... Anyone else had/have this issue or has anyone replaced plugs w/out the specific socket (is that even possible)? Anyone in the Chicago area have that tool already and want to help out?

Here's a link to my thread... http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=552826
and a link to the spark plug socket... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055T7JNC You'll find that they stick a removable magnet into the socket that can be a pain in the ass to get out at first... you'll need to take it out to loosen/tighten the plug, and have it in when you are removing the old plug or guiding the new plug into place. Hope that helps.

It'll happen on any tune or piggyback. The increases in fueling and boost will highlight any weak link. Misfires and hitting limp mode while tuned are well documented before Cobb's entry to the N54 tuning world!
