btw saw this on m3 boards...
good reviews of the TR's bmw center caps are nice touch from his post "I bought TRMotorsport MT1 wheels 18x9.5 with 265/35/18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup all around. I'm using 10mm RE spacers on the rears. wheel as per TireRack are 19lb and according to Michelin 22lb for the tires so 19+22=41, I got 43.20Lb so the rest might be for for the wheel weighs, air, scale error, etc"

Bad news! The TRMotorsports 18x8.5 et44 wheel mounted with 245x35 'Stone RE760s do NOT make a happy fitment in the front of a 135i. The wheel will spin but there is less than 1mm clearance on the strut and steering arm. Spacer use is not a solution because the wheel and tire already extends outside the front fender.
It must be said that I did not test drive the car or have photos of the fitment. But from my experience, this was not a workable street wheel/tire setup. I did not drive the setup as I want to return it to TireRack un-used and go for a better, to be determined, setup in the front. I'm thinking 18x8 et40-45 and a 225 tire will be about it for street in the front. And, 'gasp', I may have to forego my prejudice against staggered setups and go with a 18x9 rear wheel as I can't bear to drop to 18x8 rear.

Thanks for the info mikeo. Sorry to hear that 18x8.5s won't fit in front. Looks like I too will probably be running 18x8s in front and 18x9s (or wider, if possible/necessary) in back.

Same here. At this point, I'm think 18x8/235 up front is about as extreme as you can go for a steet setup.

If anyone is curious, here's an 18x8 and 18x9 ASA AR2 setup on my 135i. The rear tires are worn to the tread bars.
18x8 ET40 225/40/18 18x9 ET45 255/35/18 Fits and drives fine. Looks aggressive. Neither the front or the back sticks out of the fender but it is close. Some here are thinking about a 9" ET40 on the rear. This will give you a visual what it might look like pushed 5mm further out. Gill

Think you could fit 235s up front with that setup?

Yes, but I'm not sure I'd like it. The 235/40 would be about .5" taller than the rear at 255/35 and I'm not convinced 265/35/18 would stay under the fender.

Significantly less options but the size should work fine.

Do you have a link for that wheel offset/tire size calulator? I looked around the site credited with the app, but couldn't find anything using their search fn. This looks like a very useful app. Thanks, Shane (still no signature) |

Are there any other suggestions out there or is it not possible to fit 255s on the front?
