Heat?
Hello, I noticed your amp is installed under the floor mat. Its a clean install great work. I am researching options for my car right now and I have had amps in the past the produce intense heat. Do you have any concerns of your amp overheating or causing an issue? I have been reading several reviews on the Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-1 300 Watt Mono Amplifier, it claims to be a cool running amp. I just don't know how that will work out if I put it in that unventilated space. I was thinking maybe I would try to hang it from the top of the trunk. IDK yet, maybe I am just being paranoid. I love that awesome sealed enclosure. I hope the guy who makes those is still in business. I was thinking so far I would match the RF amp with a kicker COMP-v or maybe a MTX thunder sub. Not sure yet. My layout is budget friendly. I was planning on using a high to low converter for the mono sub input. Any thoughts before I start making blue print and buying my stuff?

If you use a line converter, make sure you do not plug into the rear outputs since our stereos are equalized to have NO bass output from the rear speakers. Do a search from MusicarNW on the site and some of my post and you will see exactly what i did

Sorry for the rookie question but I've decided I need this sub enclosure. It's too good to pass up. I've put a sound system in every one of my previous cars but paid the money and let the installer work out what I needed.
I have the 10 Speaker Hi-fi Professional system which is the stock sound system in the US spec cars for 08-09 model cars. It's not the Logic 7. Anyways, I don't want to change the speakers or remove any of the stock speakers/subs under the seats, all I would like is add an extra amp and sub. I know this will only give me extra bass. I really want to utilise the sub enclosure that TPLSM3 is making I think it is brilliant. What will I need for this setup and how would I run it? I want the amp where the battery goes and the sub in the enclosure. Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys. |

Except his stock amp will be in the trunk under the left side panel instead of behind that cover next to the rear drivers side seat. That location is only for those with Logic7.

Here's how you would do the wiring for the non logic system for the 1 series. This is for the standard system on '08-'09 1ers. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87130 |

...Not to mention, if you've ever heard a 10W7 in action, you'll know that even IF it's only working at 80% potential, it's still far beyond most 10" (and many 12") subs you'll ever come across.

Whats the current price for the enclosures, and what is the best recommended sub to suit for a good compromise between volume, "crispness" and boot space ?
I am seriously considering getting an enclosure (have been for ages), however shipping is rediculous to Aus. Fortunately heading to US within a few months and have an address to ship to. I have a JL Audio HD900/5 with the 5th channel currently "vacant". Since i use this car for work purposes boot space is premium. The earthquakes already installed do a good job for mid bass, however i'd love a little more low end.

Sorry for the horrible pic, taken with my phone, but here's my JL bass knob. That panel is the best place I could locate that wouldn't cost lots to replace if I wanted to switch back to stock. I believe that trim piece is about $15-$20 from the BMW dealership. |

I'll let Ben chime in, but *thought* he was working on making something available for the 3-series too...
