Exactly. I shake my head every time someone expresses they want an AWD M5 - for that reason.

The only issues I have with Audi is the FWD setups and how their front axle isn't as far up as it could be. Also, yes, BMW >>> Audi. |

This car is just amazing!
I saw one at the BMW dealer here...with a nice price tag.... 160,000 $

It does seem like a waste of time but Fifth Gear has never been sure what it is trying to achieve, is it Top Gear Lite? is it a serious car review show? Who knows?

Why I honestly don't bother watching TG. Read the mags tho.

I disagree, though, with the RS3's interior. No way, too busy. There's too much going on. With performance cars I tend to side with "less is more." |

However, just like everything else the specialists tend to perform better in their field than a generalist. It takes way more than the price range of this car to make awd perform at the level of a rwd sports car. Quote:
It's not a matter of tire width, it's because part of the power is going to the front wheels. It's a problem of physics and vehicle dynamics more than tires. |

I understand all this. Was just implying that Audi knew that there would be chronic understeer with this car and decided to fit wider tyres in the front but yet on the fifth gear test the test driver was complaining that the understeer was getting worse as the tyres got hotter. |

Have to disagree with you. Having run a B5 RS4 for 18 months, there is nothing "clost-but-no-cigar" about that car. With relatively minor tuning (I had 100cell cats and a remap, taking it to 450bhp) it got two cigars ;-)
