Installed the new LCI Blacklines last night. Old tails are still functioning very well, but rather grimed up. Amazed at how supple the new gaskets are.
Quick shot of the new tails with plastic on. That stayed on the lenses until they were fully bolted in. Quick shot before getting started: OK. Tools required: Small trim tool 1/4 in drive ratchet and 8mm deep well socket. Flat and #2 phillips screwdriver bits Wet rag Took out the trunk liner, this is what we see back there. There are two wiring harnesses to remove, one vertical in the middle, and one horizontal (smaller) up to the left. I removed both of those quickly with the flat head screwdriver. There are 3 8mm nuts which have to be removed, and the tail will slide straight out the back end. Get it cleaned up with a rag. Nasty. And put the new one in! Reverse steps on the nuts and wiring. Took maybe an hour. Have fun!

TC Kline single adjustable. Plan is to keep it where it's at in terms of ride height. Will probably raise it even, about a quarter of an inch since its a bit low for some of the roads around here and the parking garage I use daily can be rough.

Long couple days, TC Kline coils installed. Still a few issues to work out, but they're on! I took a good few pictures which I will upload shortly. Stay tuned!

Your car is SO CLEAN man! I bookmarked it in my build wishlist because I'm going to be a copycat on a few things. Definitely doing mud flaps and the depo sidemarkers, and definitely looking into those wheels.
Did you use any specific product to clean up your engine bay? Mine is disgusting and I'm not sure where to start. Keep up the great build. Looking forward to updates. Cheers -Tom

Someone is currently selling a set of Alufelgen SF71 wheels in the classifieds. Gotta jump on them if you want a set, they're impossible to find these days. If you have any questions, feel free.

As stupid as it sounds, I haven't had 2 minutes on my desktop to upload pictures. Got tons of pics of things I've done to the car just sitting there.

Updated front post with current mod list. Still have a couple parts sitting on my workbench. HPA Rear Toe Arms, and Dinan fixed camber plates. Wish I had more time.
Got my home computer up and running, bulk of pictures transferred, edited, and uploading now. Need to finish editing the ER/Tial install pics and get those going too. Hope to get all that up tomorrow.

OK, so I did this install really, a long time ago. About the time I did my OFHG/OCHG repair, I already had the front end ripped apart and it seemed like a great time. First thing to say, is this FMIC is absolutely MASSIVE.
Second thing, this kit does the job. In around 110 degree heat pulling 19 pounds of boost, this FMIC kept IAT gain on a 3 gear pull to 130 mph under 20 degrees. I can't remember specifically, so I don't want to make claims that aren't true, but this number is conservative. Maxed out at less than 135 F. Stock unit on a similar day rose to over 160 degrees. Part: CX Racing N54 fitment Front Mount Intercooler I ordered 2.5" silicone intake piping, stainless joiners, and T-bolt clamps from SiliconeIntakes.com. Great company, great products, and fast shipping. 1x 2.5" 45 degree 1x 2.5" x 24" straight which I cut up to fit. I have a fair bit of silicone and a few joiners left, I will probably revise the rest of the cold side charge piping now that I have gotten rid of the stock charge pipe too. A LOT of cutting was involved. This job is not for the faint of heart. The cuts shown here are really only an intro. I had to make probably 3 hours of revisions to the cuts, including cutting the fan housing, to get the FMIC and piping to fit properly without rubbing. Shot of the initial cuts to the shroud. Big piece gone, this weighed over 5 lbs! Shroud cut out Front shot with FMIC bracket installed Bolted it up to the existing FMIC mounts! 2.5" piping installed In the next two pictures you can see some of the cutting required on the fan housing, basically involved cutting little boxes out of the lower corners. They are fairly large but oblique, and do not intrude into the area of the fan whatsoever. Passenger Side Driver Side Done! And it's straight, tucked headlight washer hoses behind the crash bar Important to note here, that I had to relocate the ambient temperature sensor to the kidney grille area. Its mount was on all the plastic shrouding that I hacked out. See if you can spot it! All said and done, this probably took me 6-7 hours. Essentially all I used was a dremel hack saw, 8mm wrench and trim tool for the bumper, and I think a T27 for the FMIC. Any questions, feel free to post them up or shoot me a PM!

OK, moving up from the FMIC, the stock charge pipe was replaced with a gorgeous ER long type unit. The silicone coupler and throttle body mount fit perfectly. Note, I reused my stock C-clip and throttle body o-ring.
The BOV is a TiAL Q 50mm unit. The vacuum hose is a perfect fit replacement for the manifold nipple. That thing is super fragile, but a little gentle maneuvering and the old line slid right off. The Tial BOV fits right into the place where the cabin resonator on the old pipe used to be. Tools: T30 torx socket, T15 torx socket, T20 torx key, 8mm socket, 6mm socket, 1/4" and 3/8" drive ratchets, flat screwdriver (for the C-clip) Pictures of the new charge pipe and BOV Removed the microfilter, cowl, and DCI, stuffed shop rags in the inlet piping. Took out the stock unit, which was surprisingly heavy! Note: the MAP sensor is very hard to get out on the stock pipe as the cabin resonator is in the way of one of the mount screws. I had to use a small torx key to get the two screws out. Remember to remove the charge pipe mounting bolt and bushing from the old unit as well. Capped off the recirculation ports with supplied silicone caps and worm clamps. Installed the coupler with a supplied T-bolt clamp Swapped the o-ring and C-clip over to the ER pipe, installed the MAP sensor with supplied torx screws, and done! The T-bolt clamps on the coupler will hold well, I have no fears of leaks. Post install impressions: No gain in power, as expected. However, the new pipe is larger and you can tell the turbos are spooling much faster due to the reduced restriction and zero flex in the 90 degree bend right before the TBI. Pressure is released MUCH faster due to the BOV, and it is just loud enough to hear, but far from obnoxious. And, it looks great! Any questions, feel free to post them up or shoot me a PM!

Next up: Differential Lock Down Brace.
There are a few places in this chassis where you can introduce NVH. The differential is one of those major locations. I wanted to tighten up my rear end without introducing much noise or harshness. Considering I had already reinforced the subframe, and stiffened the transmission bushings, I was worried about replacing the differential bushings. Instead, I got this lock down bracket from 135droptop. 4 bolts, 2 into the differential cover itself, and 2 into the rearmost subframe crossmember. VERY easy install, and the shape/welds are perfect, which is good, since this is one location where a poorly fitting part would really mess things up. Installed the subframe bolts first Then the diff mounts, tightened it all down evenly Post install impressions: What can I say, no more wheel hop. My crappy e-Diff engages much faster, and I can slide the car much more confidently. Additionally, this works with the RSFB inserts to make the car feel more planted out back. The car definitely needs a proper LSD now. Any questions, feel free to post them up or send me a PM!

Changed my CP-e DCI out for new a new set of BMS S&B filters and couplers. Why? Wanted a second set and apparently 2 replacement filters from CP-e costs as much as the whole kit from BMS!
Either way, glad I did. The new filters are actually bigger, which helps them sit in the engine bay a little better IMO. Not sure if anyone needs a picture, but I'll snap one sometime soon. Will also measure the filters to confirm my suspicion that they are in fact, larger.

So, turns out Photobucket has engaged in some form of extortion. They want $400 a year for me to get all these images turned back on, which is something I refuse to do. Ad traffic wasn't enough I guess.
I will need to find a new image host, and then it will take days to get all these images rehosted and properly linked up. I'm currently backing up all photos of the car and migrating them to a more secure storage system, so hopefully nothing will be lost. Assholes.
