I am cheap! AA headers instead of Supersprint too! And a custom exhaust!
Honestly I want the leather Recaro PPs, or see if I can fit some of the leather GT3 replicas inside. That'd be ideal. |

What do you guys use to mount the factory seat belt buckle? Which kit is better VAC? I'm trying to do a fixed position no sliders for now. I have a sparco sprint 5 seat that I want to mount on the driver side but am clueless on what parts I need as far as floor mounts then what next for the seat mounts and belt buckle. Where can I go that's not going to break my wallet but still safe and repeatable.

we have bucket seats in our e82 with sliders, and in lowest position you couldn't see anything thru steering wheel.
i'm about 180cm height, and other drivers in our e82 about 185cm. |

Alex @ Alpine MSS did mine. Basically remote coding to remove airbag lights and full occupy the seat for proper airbag deployment.

Here's mine. I went with a custom half cage, Corbeau seats, and race tech harnesses. Love the set up

If you prefer, whether for harness or shorter receptacle usage, you can also kill the buckle light and buckle tensioner, which I believe are the gurtkontact lines. |

Can you also confirm if this can be done in advance of removing the seats or if I have to do this concurrent with actually removing them (I guess I could just unplug them...) Thanks! -Mark

We are using a Sparco Evo in my wife's 135i, Sparco sliders, VAC bases. I'm 5'10" 230 and fit in the car with a helmet on by simply removing the lower cushion. Seat is mounted so she is comfortable (she is 5'4" about 130). Seat is very close to driver's door panel but doesn't hit. I used the receptacle from one of my E36 M3s seats so she can use the 3 point for occasional street driving.
I have a question I haven't seen answered in this thread. Can the airbags be coded off? The car's primary use is hillclimb/track, and she is still using the stock steering wheel. Don't want the airbag to go off in her face with a helmet on. If not has anyone found a simple way to make them all inactive? |
