Signed...don't think you should have put "pissed off N54 owners" though. And how do you plan to pass along to BMW?

Yeah I agree. I added that, and the last part in the original about the hookers as a joke. |

Great letter to BMW
It's a great letter, which should be sent to the Editors for publication in all the trade car magazines, here and Europe too. It'd be great to see it published and discussed in Car & Driver, etc ...
They should even be encouraged to do an in-depth article, interview the folks here on 1addicts, etc, and embarrass BMW publicly as much as possible. Might even make it into the Times (here and London) since BMW is a mega-corp. It's really, totally unacceptable. |

It's a turbo - turbo's have never been known for reliability anyway and when you hit 100k, don't expect good resale regardless. Go get yourself a new 5.0 "Coyote" 2011 Mustang. No turbo. |

Add me to the list of 2 replaced fuel pumps. Car runs great now, not sure for how long, but we'll we driving it hard no matter what.
If you can get this issue on Autoblog, it'll blow up internet wide pretty quick and will hit mainstream media shortly thereafter.

How bad do you beat on your cars could make this issue worse as well. Do you warm it up before pegging it? LOL |

Go get a Mustang? Go kill yourself. Basically what you're saying is that BMW is no better than Ford, and I should dump my car and go buy a Mustang rather than hold BMW to the standards the average customer expects. |

So you think not talking about the situation is going to protect your resale value? Are you fucking serious? This issue is being widely discussed on every automotive enthusiasts forum in the country. The resale is already fucked and the logical thing to do is hold BMW accountable for building a completely unreliable engine. And just for the record there's NOTHING an owner can do to a car that should cause a fuel pump failure. NOTHING. |

Sir, I am happy that you have not experienced the pump issue. Second, as I have stated many times I don't abuse my car: no redlining, no autox, track, proper warm up and oil change every 5k miles. Take your condescending attitude elsewhere, and I hope the unwise speculation is not a true reflection of your intelligence. I will keep it civil here.

I just saw the results of the 335i HPFP survey... 68% of the respondents state they never had the HPFP replaced, and of those 32% who did, 81% of them never had a second replacement.
I guess the problem is not as widespread as the vocal minority here, or at least I hope it's not. FYI - I had my HPFP replaced at 5800 miles.

This is certainly disappointing and frustrating. There's no doubt of all the cars I've spent too much time test driving this summer, the 135i was by far the most fun. |
