Switched from a v3.01 custom map to v4.00 Stage 2 sports. Car made weird wastegate sound if throttle was blipped at idle. Switched to v4.00 Stage 1+FMIC Sport and sound went away.
4 days later, code P30FF, reduced power dash light and car tops out at 8PSI boost. Sounds like a wastegate is broken/not working somehow. Coincidence? Probably ... Still, another page in my ongoing Cobb saga. |

I changed my sparkplugs and retunned with V4.00 Ijcos stage 1+ sport and the car feels amazing. Im really stoked on this tune. Im limited to 91 octane here in CA and had some missfires on cylinder 3 on stage 2 +sport. I removed the downpipes for a service and put on the stage 1+. There are no missfires what-so-ever and the car feels much healthier than the stage 2 + sport on 91. It was probably the new plugs that eliminated the miss fires but to be honest with the new flash, I dont think I want to go back to stage 2.

Did you have a downpipe install before the code? After my initial downpipe instal, the shop had the clamp rotate too much and it hit the waste gate actuators. I took the car back, had the shop rotated the clamps and the p30ff went away and the car drives great. |

Just installed today the 4.01 beta available from the Cobb site for my I8A0S. Choose to go for the Stage 1 - Sport ST (on 94 octane).
After 45 mins of driving mix between highway and city I can say that the new 4.01 is better -- Super fast, smooth but aggressive at the same time (much faster than the old 3.01 for sure however i have no logs only feeling). No codes, no funny waste gate sounds. All was excellent only comment was that update was longer than usual (maybe 6-7 minutes). Before I was on the 3.01 Aggressive Aggressive setting, I will stay on sport until Cobb releases the stable V4.0x before I go to Aggressive. This tune for sure though to me feels faster than the previous aggressive (4.01 sport Vs 3.01 Aggressive). The kick comes in early and is very responsive... If anyone can comment on 4.01 sport Linear Vs Sport Standard throttle it would be appreciated. Great job Cobb. I can say that this is a good improvement and every time I say "I don't know how much better it can get", but it keeps on improving and getting better... Looking forward to the final V4.0x and get working on V5! Thanks! Last edited by Zeus78; 03-25-2012 at 04:55 PM.. |

I've been running 4.01 for two days and it is by far the smoothest most OE tune feeling map that I have had to date. Fantastic job! I'm running Stage 2+ aggressive LT. No oscillation at any point and the car pulls nice and smooth from 1/4 throttle to WOT throughout the whole RPM band.

Having the leak with the tune vs. not on stock is not weird or a tune issue, you simply have a connection that isn't on well enough to hold elevated boost levels.

Anyone else compare:
3.01 Stage 1 Sport ST to 4.01 Stage 1 + FMIC Sport ST? I don't notice a power difference. Stage 1 + FMIC should be much stronger than plain Stage 1?!? Last edited by evilstib; 05-01-2012 at 08:55 PM.. |

I'm running the Stage 1 Aggresive Version 4 beta Map and is the only tune ive tried. I Love the instant TQ in the midrange for daily driving and literally live in part throttle boost. If there was any complaint, be it with the stock turbos or tune, but I REALLY hate the fact that the car "falls off" the last 2K RPMS... with all that midrange power the car feels like it is choking itself nearing redline. Is that the boost taper in the tune?

That is your stock turbo running out of puff towards red line...
Get the Single turbo if you want the torque curve to go all the way up to red line |

Hello all. Im planning to pick up a AP next month while back in the States. I was looking at the website and wondering how you figure out the ECU code to choose from the list.
Is there somewhere i look on the car to get this information? Thanks in advance. |

Plug the accessport into your car once you get it and it will recognize/display the ECU type.
