Digging up an old thread. For users of the 1M brace, does the M dust cap fit on with your coilovers damper knob?

Does anyone actually have the DIY baby steps for this mod? I'm thinking of doing the M3 and the old post from HPA even said the hardest part will be for people figuring out how to remove th covers. So, anyone point me to the direciones?

True, loosening the top of the strut can change your alignment. If you pay attention to where the strut was before and after install, you should be able to get it back to where it was. Any amount you are off should be minimal. If you have any doubts afterwards, just bring it in and explain it to the shop. They may give you a discount if they know the only thing that may need adjusting is the top of the strut.
One exception.... If you haven't removed the alignment pins, things won't move at all. |

if the wheels are on the ground, I'm pretty sure the weight of the car won't allow the strut to move. Just try moving the strut with one wheel on the ground. Just the tension from the sway bar won't let you love the strut, the weight of the car would make it even more difficult to move.

$812 for everything here in Australia we get ripped so hard. especially when i see guys here saying they are getting everything for under $200 which even with the bad Aussie dollar atm is still way less then half the price.

There is a pack of 1M front brace components from ECS Tuning. I ordered it last year. The postage by US post to Australia wasn't too bad.

Not yet. I'm going to though. Tried pricing it out on a few sites and the ecs package deal always ends up cheaper so I'm going to order it from them.

That said, if you can stomach the additional cost, the M3 strut tower brace is a better design than the 1M brace but definitely the 1M is still much better than the stock brace.
