funding my nursing home
Fell in love with it when it had wallpaper on it. I looked forever, got no love from any local dealers. Actually have to thank forum member JasonCSU for giving me his allocation from RalleyeBMW in New York. (THANK YOU) Huge deposit paid, not a dime above sticker.
Planning to keep it until my legs don't work. There is no other car I think I would ever want. It gives me goose pimples! Last edited by buckeyegirl; 07-05-2013 at 12:25 PM.. Reason: punctuation |

deposit in March 2011, arrived in 0ctober and so far already 15,000 miles, the GTR is the garage queen now because of the 1M.
Had a rear facelift with cf trunk, spoiler, splitter, eisenmann exhaust, n55 mid, and few cosmetic mods. So basically no turning back, thinking of adding another daily driver with similiar driving dynamic so I don't put too much miles on it. |

Deposited 1000 Sept 2010 (had to educate my dealer about the car's existence).
Feb 2011 allocation, April build; Delivered May 15 2011. 10,100 miles of pure bliss... I've had dreams where I sold the car and woke up in a total panic! I look forward to handing the keys over to my son one day; he's 4. |

Called my dealer late 2010 to get my name on the list, got an allocation in September of 2011 (one of the last ones in the US). Picked it up in Munich on November 2011 and back at PC in February 2012. Currently at 6000 milles in the odometer (2100 of which were delivery miles). Expect to keep it for a long long time.

Went to local dealer to pick up little BMW push car for my baby nephew's birthday in Sept 2011. Talked to my salesperson about 1M. Put down refundable deposit on the same day (forgot how much). Got allocation in Oct 2011. Nov 2011 built. Picked up on Dec 23, 2011.
I don't drive it everyday but every time I drive, it puts smiles on my face... :-) Have put 14200km on it so far...

October 2010 $1000.00 deposit. (Started wait list at dealer. Had to tell them about 1M).
PCD August 2011. Daily driver. 32,000 miles logged. Makes me smile every morning.

Original owner by mistake. I bought a 128 for my wife on June 28 2011 and I ask the salesman about a BSM 1M and he told me that was impossible to get one because all of them were already sold. On September 22 2011 the person who had ordered it a year ago couldn't buy it because of credit problems. The dealer released the car to be sold to the first customer. The salesman called me while I was on the road from Orlando to Miami to let me know the good news. I arrived home, told my wife and we drove straight to the dealership. I did not even look at it, I signed the papers and the BSM 1M I asked for was finally mine!

Left a deposit with the dealer when rumors of the car started circulating, forgotten when, though.
Built in July 2011, Euro delivery in mid-September 2011, drove around for a week, then given back for shipment home. Received it state-side very early November 2011. Paid ~ $1500 under ED invoice! I think the dealer has been grateful for all the referrals I've given over the years... 2700 miles as of today, 1100 of which were put on the car during Euro Delivery, and about 250 of those 1100 were a dozen or so laps on the 'ring . The car is pretty much a fun summer weekend car for me, though I anticipate doing a few track days this summer. I'll never sell this car.

I enquired about the 1M when they were anounced, and was promptly told that I could submit a $5K deposit and get on the waiting list. But there were 28 people already on that list so can't make promises. He was very clear in stating that I could not see, sit in, let alone drive the car before purchasing. And for $115K, I was going to want to drive it first. So I let it go.
12 months later, I happen to be at the dealer looking to buy an E92 M3 and was hesitating, when asked, I stated that it just wasn't quite as I thought. Dealer enquires "have you driven a 1M?", I said that was the reason for my original visit 12 months ago. He said they've extended the allocation and there happens to be one coming in. I said I've already ordered a car but I'd love to see one in person if you could let me know. Couple of weeks on and I was called, I popped in and as soon as I saw it I felt good, then I took it for the test drive that I didn't intend to take, and here it was, the car that I was looking for. So sat down and put a deposit on an AW one which was on the water. Love the thing, she rips, she doddles, she snorts, she plods, and all whilst making me happy. That's all I asked. Done. She has just over 8K kms on her and very pleased. I won't say I'd never sell cos I never say never, but very happy and fortunate to have one for now. |
