I'm really excited to see how this turns out. Sounds like a lot of work though, are you regretting not taking it somewhere to have it done?

Thanks all for the encouraging words!
It is a lot of work, but it's very rewarding. I'm glad I didn't take it somewhere to get it done, because then I would have paid $3,000 for a wrap I could do myself for well under $800. I just wish I wasn't working full-time, going to school part-time, etc, etc...

Just ordered carbon fiber mirror and shark fin covers. I think it will look nice with some exposed carbon fiber bits. A lot easier to cover those items than to wrap. Door handles are still going to be difficult. I can't wait to get the car back from the body shop...
oh, and almost forgot, I have an iCarbon front lip on the way as well

I'm also thinking about removing the front bumper to be able to bring it inside and take my time wrapping it. I ran for a little while without a front bumper while I was doing the FMIC work. Anyone think it will be an issue?
Also... random question. If anyone has ever changed their FMIC... what is the little electric cone shaped thing that sticks down inside the stock FMIC??? Is that the ambient temperature gauge?

Last note, I promise... I'm probably going to leave the hood exposed until last, just in case I can't get it done by the time I head out to Topeka. Just fyi, haha
If you can't tell, I've had a lot of coffee today...

Explains why the temperature reading is always off, haha. All I did was ziptie it to the steel bumper.

Bogart it looks amazing! Nice job. I was wondering what company makes the vinyl? If you don't know there usually is a company logo on the back. And is the name the official company's description or is that name just created by the seller? Thanks.

Very jealous of your skill and wish I could wrap my car this color. I don't know the first thing about wrapping vinyl, nor do I have the necessary space/tools to do it. I wouldn't mind dropping $3k to get it done professionally, but I don't know of a place locally that I could drop my car off with for a week.
Your work is turning out really well and I can't wait to see it complete man, keep it up. Mad props!

I haven't noticed any difference in reception with the CF shark fin cover. I wouldn't imagine there would be any change. There is nothing metallic in the CF or 3M tape used to secure it. It fits really tight and really well, I like it.

Yes, people do think I'm crazy, but I think it's going to look amazing once it's complete.
Next up are the front fenders, then I think I'm going to do the hood. I have to stay away from the right rear quarter panel and roof for the time being, because those portions were painted to repair the hail damage.

Both fenders complete... wow they were easy!...
KDW's are installed, ride height is set, fenders are wrapped, and some CF goodies are installed... alignment tomorrow morning... almost ready for the Euro show this weekend... then weekend after that, Heartland Raceway for Flat Out.

You have a bit of a gap there where the bumper meets the fender on the driver's side.
Its coming along nicely, but I wouldn't say you're almost done, lol. Maybe half way, maybe |
