Nice work Edwin, your time and trap speed seems consistent with everyone else in the 12.8 range.

Edwin compared to Richard's pass you have a lot of potential. Your short time could come down by at least 0.2 which would mean a pass around 12.3!
Shows how good Richard is on the hit pulling a 2.0x with runflats!

Put my mates Gopro in the car.
My wife thinks this clip is hilarious. She reckons I held my breath for the whole run. Looks like it but that woosh sound at the end was the bov's and not me. I was more worried about where that SS ute was. It is kind of funny now that I had a closer look. Last edited by JB4-335; 06-08-2011 at 09:06 PM.. |

Nice run Edwin! I know how frustrating it is when trying to get your 60ft time down and cant! the more power you put down that the harder its going to be to get a good 60ft time especially without the supporting mods for grip.

I guess it's just a matter of practice Matt but yes it is frustrating. I didn't use the 1st gear boost reduction on the JB4 interface. Next time.

I got a 12.753@111mph so your time is pretty much spot on. If anything, considering your 60ft and the extra weight, you did really well! |

Pfft, people keep complaining about the runflats but I don't see the issue! :-p
I guess being auto helps, but I think I launched at around 2500rpm. I also did a burnout, when I didn't do one it was harder to get traction. |

2500rpm!!? That's insane... I thought that was only possible with slicks! You probably did a burnout down the 1/4 strip too

I tried to launch at just over 2k and you can actually see in one of my videos that my right wheel start to slightly spin while my car is sitting still on the line ready to go. I was told by APC not to heat up street tyres so I didnt do that went I went but I did reduce tyre pressure.

I was told to launch between 2500-3000rpm. I didn't but as can be seen in the vid. Next time I'm gonna dump this ZF hard in hopes of a 2.0 60'.

Funny though, I errrr... took off with a bit of gusto at a set of lights the other night with DTC on and lost traction very easily while launching with a bit of a roll up to maybe 10kph. Maybe I had a lucky night at the drags! |

You don't want to do a burnout with street radials, but you do want t clean the debris off them. Just turn the tyres over a bit, don't try to haze them.
Don't be surprised if the track officials frown at you. That's because your shit street radials are cutting the prepped track to ribbons, especially runflats.

You want to launch at the highest RPM you can that avoids bogging or excessive wheelspin. The optimum launch is with 10% wheelspin, much quicker than no wheelspin.
