Tank Engine, welcome to 1 addicts. I see you want one of these huh? If the financial controller doesn't allow a 135i, how about a 125i for $54k? I have it confirmed that it is the 3 litre engine, so I am sure someone is going to come along and offer a chip to unleash the power to 200kw like on my X3. I wonder how many more GTI/R32 owners are going to end up with one of these. I know a few more texers who are lurking around here...
d3syd, good advice. I keep talking about the cars until the other half gives in. Like I was originally meant to choose between the 135i and C63, but have managed to talk my way into both. |

It will be a 135i or bust. The GTI w/chip would outweight going the 125i route IMHO. My club car is RWD (Escort - 840kg and almost 200 bhp) and as much as I think the GTI is a wonderful car I do miss RWD on the street. Reality will set in - I think the best time for swap over will be mid next year - end of lease and we are in the middle of starting a major house extension. I'll look forward to the reports of how the car is from the early adopters. Also I'm doing stuff all kms at the moment as I'm doing a sh111t load of travel for work. Tank. |

I'm curious if any of you guys know the final price that you will be paying (and if any discount) or if you have just signed up and will be paying rrp? I work in the fleet industry and was making some enquiries yesterday but was told (by one BMW fleet person) that although the rrp has been released they don't know the margins on the vehicle / options yet...

I know of a case when the M6's were released that someone paid $20K to an awaiting buyer to jump the waiting list and buy his similar spec car that was arriving in the first month. That guy took his $20k and purchased an M5 as he had been considering one at the same time he ordered the M6. I have the Price and options booklet in front of me, printed by BMW Aust. Feb 08. |

I am delighted with the stuff that we will be getting standard!! There are a number of things that I was not expecting or unsure whether they come standard such the Lights Package, Auto Dazzle free Interior Mirror, Storage Compartment Package, Electric Seats with Memory, and Voice Recognition.
I'm over the moon!!

Another Aussie... at this stage its a bit of a pipe dream... I'm working on convincing the boss that this is a great investment. I'm just a bit concerned with putting 1000km a week on the car over some pretty lousy roads...
Geez it would be fun down the Great Ocean Road though |

TMK001, keep the ute as the work car, and use this as the fun car! In times like this, he is dad, not boss. That is how you need to approach it. Lol. Also, you can always use the Maccas car for daily runabout. Now where is that pic when I need it???

Way, I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that Todd is referring to THE boss (ie the missus), not the work boss...

The closest thing Todd has to a missus are the 16 year old girls who comes through his Maccas stores! :P Toddy, post that Maccas car pic up will ya? It's the ultimate work car.

Even down here in deep dark Africa we get the extended lights (puddle lights) package as standard and for this privilege we get to only pay an additional US$20k or so
