I tend to agree with Oz. I don't feel much need to tune my 1M. The engine just feels "right" for the car - neither too much nor too little power. The only reason I've thought about getting a tune is to allow installation of DPs without getting a CEL warning, although I could just get the O2 sensor fix from BMS. However, I can't really convince myself that catless DPs will be a big improvement over the "special" OEM DPs which seem to be freer flowing than the standard BMW DP. Contrary to my 1M, the N54 in my 335 has always been more enjoyable with a tune. The 335 chassis seems to do better with a bit more power, and it's nice to have catless DPs on that platform. That being said, the tuned 335 is still pretty mundane compared to the 1M with stock engine software and DPs. I suspect the different flywheel in the 1M helps make a difference too. |

This is the first car in a number of years I have not felt the need to uprate the software, instead I have done some hardware upgrades (IC & exhaust) but felt chassie and brake improvements was all I required for my intended use. Still no plans at this stage to remap.
