Whiteline RSFBings arrived.

Plan to to lower that subframe really low, may have to remove the exhaust and bottom shock bolts, need to get old M3 bushings out (incorrectly installed) and the sway bar + end links.

Also best time before Christmas for alignment is Monday at 9am, so will do my best to get the M3 front upper and lower arms also installed. May buy some string and get the toe dialed out to 0, make it drivable for a couple of days (no high speed/travelling) till Monday.

Fingers crossed.

I was listening to them in the car a few days ago. Maybe the best N. American band ever.

Trivia question - where did they get the name?

With a name taken from a brand of steamroller, Buffalo Springfield formed in Los Angeles in 1966 with Stills (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Dewey Martin (drums, vocals), Bruce Palmer (electric bass), Furay (guitar, vocals), and Young (guitar, harmonica, piano, vocals).

Wasn't Stills from Louisiana?

Don't know, but I do know that Neil Young looked up to him. And I didn't mean Stills was in Canada, I meant Young came down from Canada to be in a band with Stills.

They were together again in "Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young" for a short time until Neil Young left the group to continue his solo career.

Back to the subject of our beloved 1ers:

I ordered some Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (225/255) from Tire Rack that should be here by Friday.

I bought a couple of tires during last week's eBay 10% discount and they showed up yesterday. The vendor was named "tirehero" and I was a little skeptical, since their price was already lower than TireRack's. I thought that they might be old-stock tires, but I was willing to roll the dice since these tires are going to get burned up at the track within a year anyway. To my surprise, they showed up with a production date of July 2018! I saved about $40 in total on a set of two.

That's pretty fresh!

Tire Rack said 3 of mine are DOT date 2918 and the 4th is 3818, so new rubber for me as well.

Called and asked them minutes before this post.

The 4S tires should be pretty new since they were released not that long ago as a replacement to the SS's. You'll love the tires. I've had them since mid summer. The dry and wet performance has been amazing; even better than the SS's.

Spark plugs. Who knew?

Anyways, I ordered a power steering flush/refill kit from FCP (Pentosin CHF-11S and a new reservoir). The fluid in there now is a cloudy, almost opaque green (it's supposed to be translucent). The pump is also a little whiny for my liking, but the E90 threads I've read have said that a flush fixed their whining issues.

I'm in love with the car again...
I did a new set of plugs and coils the weekend before as well. Car pulls quite hard now. This was probably my worst looking plug.

Those aren't quite as bad as mine were. The center electrode was almost flat on mine lol I'm surprised I didn't have any misfires or running issues because of it...

Did this, coded all the warnings, no DRLs - just angel eyes, and some more. Wish I had done it last year...

Gave it a wash, vacuum and interior detailing including leather treatment. I smudged some grease on the iDrive screen, then proceeded to add a few new scratches while cleaning it.

You can never see the scratches while I'm driving, but the anti-glare coating on the older iDrive screens like the type in the E82 is incredibly fragile and easy to scratch. I'm considering applying matte finish screen protector to it to prevent further blemishes.
