Plus, they're two-tone so there's some paint as well. |

I drive mine for about 3 hours a week; and after a month or two it depletes enough to give me the battery low warning. Rather than buying a new battery, I bought a new charger - now I drop it on a c-tek charger for the weekend every few weeks to bring it up to 100% and haven't had a problem since. I don't know how old the current battery is, it's probably due for replacement; but this strategy has given me an extra year so far. |

Didn't happen today, but I finally got around to editing/uploading it. I was able to take my 135i to Road America, which has always been a dream of mine. I abused the car and had so much fun!
This was my first time doing anything like this and I didn't have an instructor so be easy on me (Had some fun with an M4 at 11:38)

suh-weet!! Wish I'd spent time on RA- that looked like a great way to spend a day!
I just replaced my ashtray with the OE storage bin, and completely tore down my center console, cleaned 83,000 miles of crap from all the seams, treated (cleaned then soaked with conditioner really...) the shift boot and both the e-brake boot and handle. Sooooooo much better now!

Started cleaning (pain in the ass), sanding and painting my wheels. I am working one first, just to make sure I like it. I cleaned, and cleaned, and cleaned and sanded the inside of the wheel, then painted it. The outside is sanded and ready for paint now.
I'll post the front when I paint it, and a rear to show the before and after cleaning and sanding. The paint is graphite VHT. Much darker than the silver, for the same reason I painted the backs black. That damn brake dust.

Ever since my battery fiasco nearly four years ago, I've had my CTEK attached to the car on a daily basis... So far, so good.

Happy to- Actually one of the least expensive things I've done to date- When purchased just earlier this January, the cost through ECS was $20.41 (Storage Tray BMW part# 51167136190)
Center console removal was straight forward, there's a great-ish video on youtube that details the removal- just google "135i center console removal" and it, they really- there is a pair of them, should be the first result. Mine is an auto where that one is stick, but essentially all same same- shift knob pulls off, surrounds just clipped in. The end of video part 1 covers removing the trim and ashtray. When reassembling just use the storage bin instead Only thing I'd consider a special note is when reinstalling pay attention to the very front and getting the console back in the dash side trims properly- took me a minute to get it properly lined up, and the console won't go that last inch forward until you do... Easy Peasy. Spent longer (much much longer...) cleaning than I did removing or reinstalling.

I just got my NNR Coilovers delivered and tried to install them. Unfortunately, they don't fit a a 2011 BMW 128i although they said they would. Anybody have any experience with these coilovers? For $360 I didn't expect amazing quality but I did expect them to fit as they said they would.

Well, the spring is a full coil at the bottom so it can screw into the mould in the control arm, and at the top it is machined flat so the adjustment perch can sit nicely on top of it. You are supposed to use the rubber boot that comes off the top of the OEM spring and put it on the top of the new spring. The new spring fits in the rubber boot, but not if I put the adjustment perch where it should be. There is a metal piece in the wheel well that the rubber boot clicks right into place with, but if I were to use the adjustment perch with it, it will no longer fit in the metal piece.
I know that is a long and pretty bad way of explaining it, but basically it would work if it were to use it as just a spring, but there is nowhere for the adjustment perch to properly sit. |

I'm just trying to visualize the "metal piece in the wheel well" and can't.
The way I see them being assembled is the top mount and bearing sit on top of the perch, held in place with the nut that goes on the damper rod. The rubber boot goes between the perch and the top of the spring. Right so far ? I just don't see what the metal piece in the wheel well is. Hey, if it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. I'm not denying that. Just that when I put my BMW PS in I had issues with the fronts and my problem was caused by a control arm bushing that was binding to the point I couldn't rotate the strut out under the fender to get it out, even though I thought I had loosened it enough. I hadn't. I'm just saying that sometimes it takes a second pair of eyes.

The metal piece I am referring to is the piece that the spring is going into in that picture. With just the rubber boot on the spring it fits in perfectly. But if i add that adjustment perch on top of the spring, it wouldn't even come close to fitting or staying in the piece |

I pm'd you as well but I think I see what you're saying. With the adjuster on top of the coil you can't get the boot on and locate it up inside the recess in the wheel well ?

I got asked at work how my bmw was doing in the winter.
I replied with, "Great! It is sooo clean!" Coworker asks how with this weather we are having?! I respond, "cuz it's in my parent's garage for the winter!" Man, I miss my 1er. Spring can't come fast enough!
