Thank you very much for the part number! Just ordered a replacement aerial and this tray. Right at $50 bucks for both, so no shipping charges! The next real money I get to spend on the car is getting a few dings removed via paintless dent removal. I still have a few items to address to get this beast looking good cosmetically...

Turbo weather!
About 50F, so not super cooled. But we must be in a high-pressure system or something. Little bugger was just ripping this morning. Fun commute. (Except for the 2 speed traps and section of construction.)

Yeah, it was 7F here this morning, good for the BATS, not good for the grip.....

I haven't looked into wheels in a while, but this seems like a good deal. I can't imagine buying two matching from VMR (who is 20 minutes from me) would be terribly expensive.

These offsets and widths should be fine for our cars, right?

Living in Florida has its benefits. I got a new windshield installed today. Florida insurance includes window coverage by law w/ zero deductible. My window was pitted really badly which made for poor visibility in low light/low sun conditions.

Were you able to get an OEM BMW windshield?

1'ers look awesome with trailers, roof racks, and other practical add-ons.

I used to tow my SV650S to the track with my Mk6 GTI. One day, a guy showed up towing a Ducati with his 911. Talk about life goals. It had some major work done to the rear subframe to accept a hitch.

Anyway I would absolutely tow something small with my 1er if I still had something to tow. I bet it would do just fine.

It's an an OEM replacement. No BMW label but it is clear as the original with no strange sight lines. Has the black around the edges just like the original. They said they will guarantee the rain sensor works but haven't tried it yet.

Any idea what size ball that euro towbar is?
I can't find any data on that?

Do they make different sizes?

Nearest I can find, button mashing, is 50mm. Which converts to just under 2".

The on line seller etrailer.com has a hitch that fits these cars. Glad this thread came up because I've been looking at adding a hitch and I see the price has come down on these. This is the Curt hitch, but it's only rated as a class I hitch, so only tows 2000#, which for this car is enough. Price is down to $137 now.

https://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2013_BMW_1+Series.htm

Last time I installed one of these, you do have to remove the tail lights in order to take the bumper off. There is also a slight modification to the underside plastics, but nothing serious.

I did find that I had to grind just a bit of the mount on the exhaust. As the exhaust gets hot, it grows lengthwise and will start to rub against the hitch. I can say it makes a hell of a noise, scared the crap out of me until I figured out what the problem was...

Yes, the euro tow ball is 50mm and fits my US 2" trailer perfectly. If you need other sizes, you may want to go with the Curt setup instead.

So I just had the M3 front control arms and sway bar installed. The arms added -.5 degrees camber up front on each side. To put it lightly, I'm blown away by the difference the arms/sway have made. Even with my current 16" winter wheels/205 size tires, the difference is substantial. The handling is improved in every way, straight line, turning, and going over bumps even feels better. It's so solid up front now and I also feel like I'm going back down the suspension tuning worm hole bc of this unfortunately....
