But I am unsure if the e90 wiring is the exactly the same for the e82, as what you have is the same as what I currently have and it doesnt work for me. I can code the VO to have the $522 and get the xenon low beams to work without flickering but lose the AEs and high beams, even though they are activ in the frm script. I need to get a photo or a diagram of the non-ahl e82 xenon socket wiring. EDIT: I am such an idiot!! I have been misreading the instructions. It actually requires the new wiring harness 'IN ADDITION' to the current one, not to replace it outright. So Pins 1, 9,10 and 11 are replaced with the new wiring but the original 3, 4, 6 and 12 remain with pin 5 (the high beam shutter) being a new addition (but unlike the e90, cant just be tapped from another pin). So the DRLs dont work because the pin in the FRM is not there, as when the $522 is coded it requires the FRM to have a different pin from the one that is currently there with the halogens(so its connected at the headlights but not at the FRM, if that makes sense -same with the High beam {which as it isnt a bulb it doesnt give a error code}). It all makes sense now!!! It requires a new pin 1 becuase the halogen bulb is a tiny 5w while the DRL are 35w. Might just bite the bullet and buy a the harness from a local dealer today rather than wait the 2 weeks for it to come from Germany. Last edited by IDriveACamryNow; 06-21-2011 at 09:40 PM.. |

Hi guys, Im doing the same thing on mine. Purchased a usedo/s xenon headlamp Ģ60 (with ballasts). when I plug it in im getting high beam error. indicator, side lamp(halos) and auto leveler work fine. The only problem im getting is the high beams. there bi-xenon so have the shutter that you have mentioned.
I was wondering how I get the high beams to work. Can I not change the pin from the car side socket that is for halogen high beam to the pin that is for the shutter? hopefully then it wont need coding. Can anyone breifly explain how I remove the pins from the car side plug aswell? Jonny Tea |

If so, this will not work without correct wiring and coding. Have you tried turning the engine on with the low/dipped beams on yet? The low beams/dipped beams will flicker and you will not be able to drive your car at night. |

Ive got halogen lights at the moment. Plugged in a oem xenon without a ballast and only the halos and indicators worked correctly. Plugged a ballast in and bulbs and the headlight seems to work fine, I just done have high beams which is abit of a killer. It even does the auto leveler correctly at start up.
Does anyone know my best bet? How to go around doing it? Im not technically minded in terms of cutting wires etc. Is there not say a plug adaptor that you could plug inbetween? can BMW re-program it cheaply? THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! |

Thanks. For high beams tap the xenon shutter (pin 5) to old high beam wire (old wire 6).
Or you'd have to take out pin 6 from harness and put it in pin 5. That's what I reckon anyways. |

hi
this doesnt work because my headlights are LCI at the moment all works except high beam and DRL (only works rear lights). DRL works but (only works rear lights). headlights no light att all even angel eyes that should stay not dont light. bescause of this iam almost 100% sure the instruction you gave me are ok but. the 3 led on the headlight dont work either its pin 7 (headlight) i think i have to take the cable from pin 1 headlight and put it on pin 7 (headlight) i have to put a new wire from pin 1 headlight to frm dont now in what pins i have to put on frm. i want to know where in frm i connect pin 1 from headlights do you know if bmw e90 lci as more then one wire connected to the same pin on frm ??? the xenon instructions you gave me in .pdf make all sense but dont know for sure if bmw 1 series E87 LCI is equal to bmw 3 series E90/E91 LCI i bet it is but want to have 100% sure. dont want to ruin anything. best regards |

This may sound stupid but how do I remove the pins?
The way the xenon headlight is, its almost as if you cannot get to the socket as its mounted low down on it and cannot access the back of it. Preferably Im trying to get the light so its reversible if i need to and errorless. Does anyone know of an adaptor that would fit in between the plug and socket and direct all the correct connections? |

this way
hi
its very easy you have to removed the plug from headlight first remove the plug from headlight you have to squeeze left right and push and it will come out then with a screwdriver you open a little plastic then insert a need on the other end upper hole wire you want to take off. where you see the big toe there is the little plastic you have to open on the other side off the wires (front of the plug) there is the little hole above every pin you put a needle on it and pull the wire it will come out Last edited by carlosalbertogui; 06-29-2011 at 09:59 AM.. |
