I just told the guy to do as dark as legal here. He said 25% is the limit between the combination of the tint and the window glass. So it's either 30% or 35% tint.

Total bull$hit. IL. Sucks. I see people all over with tinted windows. I want to tint but cops suck in IL. I think 50% on the side windows and 35% on the rear will keep them from bothering us. If they can see in the car easily they usually don't bother you. But don't give them another reason to pull you over, then they WILL add the tint to the ticket, or tell you to start peeling.

Is this a Crimson Red thread or a New Jersey/Illinois pro-tint thread?

I'll steer it back on topic. I had a chance to wash it today and take some more pics in the sun. Enjoy. I've also added a bunch more pics to the gallery I linked to above.

This isn't totally on topic, but if anyone is curious about the aluminum trim I have a good shot of it here.
I guess I should also point out that I recently got a new camera, and that's part of the reason I'm going crazy with the pics. Plus, I also just love this car so much. Last edited by KeithLM; 08-20-2011 at 12:56 AM.. |

Red on red. Brilliant! You,my wylie friend from Wylie, are a true thinker. That is a great look, way over the top for myself, hey, that's my problem. Your car is beautiful.
A separate binder, a collection as it were, might be in order for speeding tickets, what with your cop-catcher attire.

Your car is RED HOT:w00t: I now can see how the silver interior trim does look good with your combo. In this pic below it breaks up the red and black, SWEET:thumbup: |

I still haven't put in my order because of this whole colour issue. I have not seen a crimson red 1 coupe yet, and I am not ordering it until I do. My dad saw one today and reported that he didn't like it, which really worries me as I didn't much fancy the sedona red one, or montego blue, and i don't want a black one, and white isn't suitable in the UK, so that leaves me with silver and red, and silver is just too boring now. Urgh it goes on |

I wish I could come up with something to compare it to. Coca-Cola red is pretty similar. As are most red LEDs. You can also see that the brake lights are pretty close to the body color. I do feel that unlike some colors, such as Sedona, Crimson actually photographs pretty well. I don't think you'd be surprised by this color after seeing many of the pics here. Not that I'm recommending ordering it without seeing it. I was able to see the color combo I got before I ordered mine. It made me feel more comfortable with it. |

here's my recently delivered Crimson Red 135i. I love this car!
- In case anyone is wondering, those are hand controls in the second picture. I'm a paraplegic which is something I obviously need to drive my new toy. |

So I saw a crimson red 1er out on the roads and decided it looked a bit pink and not the shade I was hoping for in the typical overcast british weather, hence went to the dealer after and placed my order for a Titanium Silver 1. I can't change the order now but I would really like to see another Crimson Red car to decide if I made the right choice for me though.

CR with Black Leatherette - Poplar or Black trim?
I'm going to order a CR 135i Coupe with black leatherette. I'm trying to decide between the Grey Poplar or Black trim. Any comments/pictures?
