I didn't have much that problem since my car has PPK1 that was installed 2.5 years ago. The OP doesn't have a PPK and he stays that the lag is gone..

hmmmm
really? that is the ROM version i have as well. But my update was supposed to be based on the prior Sib 12 09 12 in post 93 of this thread http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=675318&page=5 and i got the update probably like 4 months ago.
does the ROM version name always change with an update? or is it possible the version name stays the same? or maybe when i took my car in requesting an update per sib 12 09 12 they ended up loading Sib 12 15 14. Ill have to double check my paperwork.

Going to Crevier BMW today to talk to the tech about the SIB 12 15 14 update. Hopefully they will budge and update it for me. Been having random stalling at low speeds, rpm spikes while AC is on still...and i think my car has the May-June update.

Do you know your current Rom version? For example, 98g0b.

ROM version does NOT have to change between every update. DCT is COMPLETELY different now, i had the update before the august 2014 and with the AC on and light braking to a stop it would lurch forward. Doesn't happen anymore. Had the VANOS bolt recall done at the same time.
Side note, car pulls like a MADMAN. even more so than before. Stage 2+ PTF e-tune |

Had my update today.
Idle surge: fixed Throttle tip in: fixed (so far) Snap, crackle and pops: still there Shift speeds: seems slightly faster than after last reflash It drives much better. This is what I expected the 135i to be when I bought it. PS: service techs and SA really like my car. One took a picture of it with his cellphone.

Thanks for the information. Did ptf have to update your etune or were you able to load the etune you had prior to your update?

Hello guys, new user here. Joined because I have been having this same problem since June... Brought my car in to dealer, told SA specifically that the software was no good and producing more problems than it fixed. They submitted a puma case a month after 12-15-14 was introduced and they or BMW didn't even notice it. Changed my twin clutch and nothing different. Either they just depreciated my car a little bit or I just got a new clutch and fluid change under warranty. Quite rediculous given I have been in contact with BMW Customer Service a lot recently and they couldn't even figure this out. I am going in next week to have the update done but already very hesitant given the lack of enthusiasm to help the customer from both BMW NA and my dealer, all somewhat troubling. Anyone else have an experience remotely similar to this?

I've been fortunate that BMW has stuck with fixing the problem, although it took a long time. I think dealer communication with corporate is a bit lacking. I shouldn't have to tell the dealer there's a fix out there. Regardless, the new update is better than the last one.
The dealer wanted to keep my car overnight to make sure it's fixed. I would know better than the shop Forman the car was fixed. Maybe they wanted to drive something fun for a change.

Did it also fix the idle surge with the AC on while coming to a stop? Glad this worked out for you!

SA Told me that they wanted to keep the car for 3 days after software install to make sure everything was "right" and adaptations were reset. Makes no sense considering the adaptations are in place for the customer... Talked to SM and told her straight up there is no reason to keep my car for this long and I will be the one to test the car. After warranty, I am going to my good friend down the street for my issues. |

Shout Out to Tim @ BMW of Dallas, you are the man. Just came back from a 1 month, 7.5k camping trip in my 1'er, will post some pictures when I figure out how. Car ran flawless, my warranty is out Nov 12 so I went down to Rick Hendrick in Charleston, SC to set up the recall and brought my IPad along and showed him the TSB. No issues they are going to update it along with the recall

Update:
I drove the 1er over 100 miles in a variety of conditions. Nothing so far has disappointed me. This update is much more stable than the last update. It's much more consistent in drivability.
