Car is pretty famous now haha, thought I'd share this pic from Buttonwillow sometime in Q3'17.
Also, the 265 square setup was rubbing pretty bad turning / under severe compression. That being said, after adding a bit more camber and adjusting the spring perch it's not as bad (or my bumper is getting grinded down for me). I'll know for sure in the next week if they're going to cut it or if they need to go on the e46. Biggest perk of the E46... Square 18x10 w/ 275s easy.

Tire to bumper rubbing is generally self clearancing. Give it time. Haha.

I just started running 6in 400lbs eibachs up front and 8in 672lbs Swift in the rear. I need taller rear springs and might try 750lbs once I start running real rear aero.

it doesn't see much street driving (E46M3 is the current DD) but the 135i is pretty damn annoying around town with monoball control arms and the 400s up front.

Thanks to Jim at MMI Vehicle Systems, aka @westcoastravenol for hooking up the 1M body parts AND personally delivering to my house today. He's an awesome guy and you can catch him around most BimmerChallenge events usually giving out tamales.
He's the supplier behind some of the most iconic 1M conversion builds out there. Hoping to have the front done by tomorrow and the Apex EC7 wheels mounted with square 275/35 RE71R tires mounted by Saturday @ Buttonwillow, OEM rears are being ordered next week. I cannot wait to run this car with square 275 cheater tires I've really never experienced this car without crazy understeer I'm planning on doing a cheap vinyl wrap since the car is mostly a track car. Suggestions!? Kind of want to stick with something fairly OEM

sorry i missed this, had some family health issues. probably wont get to it for a month, next week going to bolivia for 3 weeks. when i get back turbos, oil cooler, csf radiator and a few maintenance items going in. if your still interested i'll hit you up when i get back.
by the way congrats on all the parts. let me know how much better 275 is. currently im on 275 and 255. i think i can squeeze a 265 up front but would need different rims. 18x8.5 is a little too narrow for 265, feel like i'm right on the edge with 255 on an 8.5 rim. |
